Missing file?

    • Thanx,
so every time (every 30 days) I download a new template, I'll just download the 30 day trial version of Fireworks from Adobe...what could be easier...
I believe some have missed the original philosophical point about inclusion.
all the best and there is really no need to reply. Rockettheme has made their decision to cater to Fireworks...so that is that. I'll live with it. I'm only out a years subscription.

    • If all you need is the default logo text changed, I'd do that for you for nothing. Once you get the hang of it, it literally only takes a couple minutes. (That's the value add to being in RT)

Andy does an excellent job of making the source files easy to use. So easy that even I figured it out.

I own Fireworks, I bought it. My purchased copy of Photoshop sits on the shelf gathering dust. It's just the way things go. Change is good.

You're not "out a years subscription." You're part of a community willing to help when you need it. For me, that's worth more than the cost of the templates.

COMMENTARY: Shhh! Let me interject here. Notice the willingness to solve the issues of a new member who feels disenfranchised by, what appears to be, an elitist method of template editing. Notice the kind and conciliatory tone that is used in approaching this individual with a magnanimous offer to come to his aid. The new member is offered help in solving his conundrum, while being encouraged to seek to rectify the situation by adding to his skill set. As you see, this is the RT way.

Let's return to this telling exchange...

      • You can only download and install the trial version of Fireworks once per computer (unless you format the computer). Thus is the nature of "trial" software.
      • The .png format is used at RT because it is the best format for working with transparency.
      • Photoshop does not play nice with the .png format and transparency, nor does it work with slices as needed, Fireworks does. Hence why Fireworks is the graphics editor of choice.
      • In a bind and need a graphic? Myself or other RT members would be happy to help.

      Cheers and best of luck.
