David York, who has posted in that thread, is seeing the same as me.

I'd be interested as to why some of us have this issue, and other don't.

Dan, the only way to simulate this, is by messing with fontsizes (min. fontsizes etc.) and css settings in browser configurations.

The template that was built by RocketTheme has one fontsize setting and does nothing weather you look at it with 800x600 or 1900x1200. Fontsize stays the same and cannot and will not break out just by itself.

You will have to dig deeper into your system and/or browser settings. There is definitely something there.

    • You have one to many menu items in the main nav bar so is wrapping the menu and messing the template at the moment, In Firefox it's very bad, main body is not even on the screen. IE is showing the template intact but still wrapping the main nav.

Edit: I just read through this thread and noticed someone else noticed the same problem. I am a graphic artist and use all default settings in my browsers so as to have better idea what most people see. I also flush my cache often. I have just checked this site on 3 different PC's to be sure it's was not just mine. ;)

      Cheers

      Hi Mick,

Thanks for the notes, could you tell me which screen-resolution you are working with and what OS? Thanks

Edit: Just removed 1 menu item as a test, and I bet it will still break out since I pretty much think (even though you are a graphic artist) it is a system/user setting in Windows. I checked all resolutions on:
      • Mac - Safari - FireFox
      • PC - IE - FireFox (latest)
      • Linux - FireFox

And none broke out with any Browser on any OS, resolutions checked are all that are humanly possible up until 2048x1536. I am repeating myself here, but I have a 10 year history of working as troubleshooter for PC stores and Windows is pretty much a mess concerning fontsizes that are regulated though many different ways and not only through the Browser settings alone. I have seen this more often than once.

For instance to name a few that are browser independant, but influence your complete system (and thus how it shows in the browser):

In your desktop preferences, icon sizes, fontprefs of your system and a bunch more that all run system-wide.

    • Yes it's perfect now.

My res is 1280x1024 using XP and was a clean install just a month ago and using the Firefox 2.0.0.9. Also I never touch IE7 with a barge pole, I only use it to check my sites so no settings or anything changed there! I also checked this site on 3 different PC's after I read the thread properly earlier (all XP but different res) with same result.

"In your desktop preferences, icon sizes, fontprefs of your system and a bunch more that all run system-wide." I also keep my PC pure as possible for the sole reason of seeing what most people see as much as humanly possible. I don't even calibrate my monitor now unless I have to do print work (CMYK) for same reason.

Anyway good to see it's working for you now :)

I am dedicated Mac user and unfortunately still have to work on Windows for my profession. And Windows keeps boggling my mind. If I look (with extra menu added) it on any screen-resolution it doesn't break out.

I am very eager to sew that Billy Boy!!! Someone wants to join me (read: have money for a lawsuit against Billy Boy)... ::)

Thanks for the effort taken to check Mick!!!

    • Hi Azzx,

Thank you for your input. About a day ago I have temporarily unpublished 1 menu-item and for Windows machine with FireFox (only machines giving these errors) there should be enough menu space. For one user with a screen-resolution of 1280x1024 erasing 1 menu-item was what made it show properly. Though I already noted that most likely for the users working with higher screen-resolutions this unpublished menu would not make any difference. Which is even more a sign that this is highly unlikely to be a template problem but more a system setting.

Though I am starting to wonder about used resolutions here.

      Normal sized resolutions would be:

      1920x1080
      1920x1200
      1920x1440
      2048x1536

These higher resolutions have been tested on IE and FireFox (2.0.11) for Windows and show properly on XP SP2 and do not break out. There is a minimal amount of users having these problems and another group on Windows high screen resolution sizes have no problems at all. The problem only occurs on Windows machines. Mac users seem to show no problem on any browser used.

Is that what you are seeing, with or without "win an ipod" menu? And what screen resolution are you using? Also. What is your systems (not browsers') menu font setting (right-click desktop) and what are your used icon sizes in your Windows setting?

    • 1680 x 1050 Screen - Firefox maximised, not seeing any "win an Ipod Menu"

Tried in Internet Explorer and the site is fine.

Thanks for the input once again!

Really odd, odd, odd. There is enough menu space after deleting the 'Win an ipod" menu, so not having enough space in the menu-bar is not the issue. I am out of ideas here. If anyone reading this has any clue, please post a little note here.

The real odd thing is, that some users (having same specifications on browser and screen-resolution and OS) have no problems and some do.
