    • I really like it. It's clean and uncluttered and very shoppable and has alot of information of the products. I can tell this one was done with lots of care and pride in the making. Proffesionally made!

    • Thanks for the comments on the Flash routine. I came up with the concept and flowchart, but the implementation was done by my Flash designer who I think did an excellent job.

The key though was having the right photos and I was fortunate that my client included me in that process so I was able to ask for exactly the pictures I wanted from the photographer.

Very nicely done. I like the way you used the top space for th clean logo w/ the handle bars bringing it down to the main site. What widget are you using for the newsletters?

Thanks for the kind words. I am using mosListMessenger from Blue Flame. I know there are other newsletter managers that are free (and others say they are good) but this one just seems to do the job easiest for me, and I've tried a few.

I need to modify my original post. Since I posted the above reply I ran into some problems with mosListMessenger and at the same time discovered Campaign Monitor (google it) which is a vastly superior and EASIER to use solution to an integrated newsletter component. I also tried out the AcaJoom Newsletter component and it compared pretty well to mosListMessenger and I liked the workflow a little better. So check out AcaJoom if you are looking for a newsletter component, and definitely check out Campaign Monitor if you want more power, ease of use, and client interaction.

    • James,
I have to say this is one of the best sites that I have seen yet using rocket theme or any joomla template. The color match to the logo is perfect and being someone who enjoys riding in Crested Butte this is very compelling. I think that for the demographic you are reaching out to this site could not be done any better. You have inspired me to try using tabs and a newsletter in my next project. Which tabs componet/module did you use?

      Hey Todd,

Thanks for the extremely kind words. Made my day! I was out in Crested Butte this summer with my Woodstock bike (yes I was a customer first, and then got to know the owner and ended up getting the web design contract). Anyway its a beautiful area and I had a great couple of rides there.

I used the tab plugin from Joomlaworks : http://extensions.joomla.org/component/option,com_mtree/task,viewlink/link_id,1046/Itemid,35/

I did make one hack where it loads the js libraries so that it only loads those libraries for specific content items. Otherwise it loads the libraries for every page whether it uses tabs or not which isn't very efficient and slows the site down.

When I went to get the URL for the plugin I noticed there is a new version so I'll have to try that out.

      James

BTW... I've had a few mention that this site should be submitted to Site of the Month? Where is the thread to do that? Do you submit your own or is someone supposed to nominate you?

    • James,
It looks like templates are the main focus around here and not the site of the month. I looked for February Nominations and was not able to find it. When it pops up I will nominate your site. My opinion is that your site should win it hands down. As for CB, I lived there for 6 years and go up twice a year to hang out with my bros. The skiing is the shit but those mountains were made for riding. Thanks for the link.

    • You have vision my friend, well done. I would to add the tab feature in my site like that, but I don´t know how yet. Any suggestion?

Also is a great use that you are doing with the flash content for the items, and it looks that you take serious time for each product / item.

      Congrats.

    • Wish i would have found this before i bought my Kona. lol

The only thing I found was that when you are ont he flash page (nice by the way) the menu options for the shopping tab when moused over go behind the .swf . Just a little FYI.

Just noticed that by fluke, i seen the bike, liked the bike wanted to see about buying one and thats when i noticed it.
