What web hosting company would you recommend?

I'm having a hard time finding a good, solid hosting company for my Joomla sites and I would love to hear who other people use. I design sites primarily for churches that have little to no budget for websites, and so cost is definitely a factor. I've been using the basic package at Network Solutions for my last two sites but they are WAY, WAY, WAY, too slow!!! My most recent site (
031a099.netsolhost.com
) is completely unacceptable which is why I thought I'd ask for advice from people who may have had better experiences with their ISP.
I've used Host Gator, Cloud Access, and SiteGround in the past and have had pretty good luck with all of those. Up to now, I've hesitated to recommend SiteGround because it's so cheap (based on "you get what you pay for" logic), but I'm beginning to think that maybe it really is the best way to go since the Network Solutions sites are consistently sluggish.
Would love to hear your recommendations!

Surpass hosting
VERY cheap BUT also VERY good.
Been through so many crap hosts in the past but these guys are legends.
Quick servers, always up-to-date, reasonable prices, quick support, rarely any issues.
They even have a forum for support/help and the guys help with coding issues too (if you ask nicely)
take a look at the site for prices, and the forum to see how good they are!

They use apache, php5, cpanelx, and they are always the latest versions

I currently use hostgator and resell their services but I am considering a move to
turnkey internet

One of the things I really liked about their reseller plans wasAll plans include a fully-featured, branded help desk where you can direct your clients for both support and sales inquiries. A knowledgebase and training videos are also included, and all branded in your company name. We provide end-user technical support to your customers via your branded help desk!
They also have a UK datacenter along with US based datacenters

I use and recommend HostGator. But the thing is, most people will get a shared and you really can only go so far on them. I recommend HostGator's VPS's. Good middle ground...better than shared with dedicated features, but without the hefty dedicated price.
Jeff - When someone is impatient and says, "I haven't got all day," I always wonder, How can that be? How can you not have all day?

:arrowu: Yes, for 'average traffic', a regular HG account is sufficient, but if you have high traffic site (10,000 hits a day) you may need to upgrade.
Obviously, if you are under 10,000 and things work, and you want to stay on 'the cheap', a regular account would be fine, but if you are running some type of business site and are getting tons of hits and need more bandwidth, a VPS or dedicated server is the way to go.
