A header rotator component was slowing it down... originally, I downloaded it use through a multisite component for a school page. Unfortunately, since it was a component it was running on the main site too creating the issue. The worst part of it all is that I never used it since it was not quite what we were looking for... I should have uninstalled it then, but truly forgot.
Thanks again for all your great advice. I will get the bg size reduced immediately too (thanks for the heads-up).

Your ping isnt the best one, but that could be because im Sweden.
And i can say, rockettheme templates doesnt take alot of load.
Im working on my website, that is almost 3months of work now. But my site is slow, but i personally know the load is because i disabled all cache since it's a development server. And im running an integration between Joomla and Magento. And we all know that magento is resource heavy and also uses cache heavily.
But i know to 100% my server will hold (2x Intel i7, 32GB DDR3 RAM and SSD harddrives in Raid. Also 1Gbps uplink, can it be better ^^
So firstly when you are done with your site, do a performance test and see where your resources go to. And you will fast find what is the beast
