Hi Forum
I wonder if someone can help solve this problem? Apologies if it's covered elsewhere ... I have searched but no luck.
On http://www.watersavers-autosave.co.uk the products are set to show specs in a custom module in the right column as in http://www.watersavers-autosave.co.uk/urinal-controls/autosave-b01-2.html . But the product accessed from the category blog link doesn't show the module http://www.watersavers-autosave.co.uk/urinal-controls/autosave-b01.html - it also has a different url. What's happening? Is it to do with the SEF component?
Any suggestions gratefully received

- Yes it is a SEF problem you must be using ArtioSEF, hence duplicate URLs when accessed product from different location, my suggestion switch to sh404SEF or publish module on all page.

Many thanks Peter, it's as I thought.
The modules are not appropriate to all pages so my work-around is to make the links to URL's instead. I don't like the idea of installing another SEF component as I've used the ArtioSEF on many sites ... unless you would advise otherwise?
I've noticed that Artio seems to make new addresses every time you 're-publish' (ie unpublish, then publish again) an item - which potentially throws links out completely.

- Artio seemed good at first but has gone down in my standings. I use OpenSEF from www.joomlahacks.com instead which is much better IMO

Hi James, I appreciate your comments, you're always spot-on it seems!
I must say that support from Artio was v.good for me but I was a bit surprised when I saw that their component had put a link to a cosmetic surgeon in the head code of my client's site. Eeek. Then I paid to get it removed and realise I now have to do that on 12 other sites.
Ah well, you live and learn ... may I ask why you rate OpenSEF better? And what of Peter's sh404SEF?

Hey guys
I'm now trying to decide which SEF I will use in my website...
I installed Artio on my testing server but couldnt make it run... Problems with the .htaccess file ???
So, I got the 500 error and lost the access to the admin area...
Trying to make it work I mees up with XAMPP (Apache) which had to uninstall and also make a clear installation of Joomla >
NOTE: Of course I read all the post related in here, and also at their forum...
So, I was inclinated to take your suggestion James, but I found this post that left me a little concern about it:

The future is uncertain my young padawan... ;D
So, should I try sh404SEF or take a shot with OpenSEF?
This last one now is know as NuSEF joomlacode.org/gf/project/nusef/

OpenSEF is now called NuSEF
Did the developers of Artio tell you it could run on XAMPP? Does XAMPP have mod_rewrite? I doubt it. You don't think you'll get any SEF to work on XAMPP.
Anyone, feel free to shoot me down if i'm wrong, I'd like this confirmed as well. - Say no to Internet Explorer 6.
