Really! :D Wow, i did a whois and i anticipated it will be them, but when i visited their site, i felt it will be more of a clitche resseller kind of thing. And again looks like hosting a uk site not be the best of ideas on there. will it?

    • To anyone having any problems or questions about their install... I can't say thanks enough to Robbie (see above) for the link:

This runs several checks to see if your Joomla installation is ok.

As far as Aplus.net and their hosting of a Joomla site... After several phone calls and hours on the phone, double checking every install....... etc.....

I can only say I would not recomend Aplus.net for anyone doing a Joomla site at this time.

Currently looking at Rochen, and GoDaddy's hosting plans... and the pain of moving everything over!

A handy tool for transferring your site is Joomlapack. You can also use this for regular complete backups of your site: www.joomlapack.net/

    • The fact that Rochen is across the pond... anything to worry about?

Anyone know anything about BlueHost.com??? They also list all of the specs for running joomla.

I just need something rock solid to run Joomla with some of the more popular adons... If I launch with aplus.net I'll get killed with 500 errors!!!

      Depends on several things:
      - Speed: normally Rochen is good in this area, but transatlantic can be problematic sometimes. Check a few of their sites during day- and eveningtime
      - Google: google ranks pages hosted in their own country (and then their own continent) higher than others.

But is the speed is good and the number 5 place instead of 1 is ok in google, then take Rochen. Since they host joomla.org they're bound to have enough joomla experience (I hope :) )

    • Take a look at webhostingtalk.com for reference.

For a single site I'd go with hostgator before bluehost.
