"real world" application of Joomla for successful BUSINESS
Yes, Heather I am looking at it like "The Monkeys", "Back Street Boys", "Spice Girls" LOL couldn't resist using them as an example - yes, real world application and good old fashion collaboration. Remember the above mentioned bands were formed with a good team of developers with intent to make something happen, they didn't know who was going to be in the band when they started - they just new they wanted a highly marketable, and successful band - they succeeded for better or worse. I would look for the better part if we collaborate...I'm sure some of us would not like to be remembered or known as "hey, your the one that created the blah, blah, blah" but then some of us don't mind. LOL
So, site is "the Band" and we are the "team" and we know we want to create something highly marketable and successful.

But...aren't most of the developers/designers on here already doing this?
How does this happen? Where is the "code" or "script" for putting together a team? LOL I sure did not find the Forum on Joomla.org (Just kidding) The more successful the end user is with Joomla, the more "everything" goes back to Joomla to make it better.

Yeah most developers on here are doing this already, making a living building Joomla sites. However, I think he is suggesting collaboration.
I agree it's a great concept, and am collaborating with others on RT on a project or two myself.
Key to the success of this sort of project is the personalities involved. If you've got good rapport and agree on the fundamental goals of the project, and team members are happy to compromise on the minor issues which will invariably pop up... the project is much more likely to succeed.
Another issue you can't avoid is copycats. Exposing too much of your goals to the public in the early stages could be a mistake. In this business copycat projects WILL appear, so you really need to get a foothold in right from the start and constantly innovate and stay ahead of the competition.
/* I'm still not aware of what you're after so I could be way off track with all this */
Yes, GollumX collaboration.
Cool on you collaboration.
Personalities - Check, Rapport -Check, Goals - Check, Compromise - Check Succeed - Check
Copy Cats - yes, a lot of innovation and yes, foothold from the get go...also, putting together a team based of Top People on RocketTheme or Joomla (people that rise to the top) - these top people decide what is needed for a team, (what will be needed to help others form a team) - then discuss potential ideas within the newly formed team (that is just one idea - scary to most because one assumes you should have a project first - but you can take mediocre product, with a great team and beat a great product, with a mediocre team any day - then "what happens when you have a Great Product and a Great Team?")
Who in Joomland is making sure of the success of the end user? What system is in place to allow for creative collaboration of ideas, concepts and more in the real world application of Joomla?
I came to Joomla for results...it has been a short journey of only a year...what has happened is - I have not quite got the results (because I am still a newbie) but I see the horizon.
The mere fact we are even having this discussion is huge...and can pave the way for future Joombies
We can lay down the ground work for everyone - of course the best way to do this is to make sure the first team collaboration site that is agreed upon and built - "ROCKS" LOL
I am generalizing - I have put more thought behind this, but wanted feed back...and wooo wooo got some great feed back (Thanks Everyone)
So, clarity - creating a school (format) for end users from start to finish in making a successful business website with Joomla, plus forming Alumni groups that allow collaboration with various projects to insure their success (of course they will all be doing there own thing, but a little project on the side here and there could be a good thing). And like any great Alumni - they always kick back to the School LMAO HOO RAAAH -- but before we create the school - we must create the first project team and project...and just because your in the first project does not mean you have to create the school if you don't want to.
Does this make sense?
