Invision Power Board (IP.Board) – Yes or no?

  • Invision Power Board (IP.Board) – Yes or no?

    • After certain negative experiences with phpBB2 I switched to SMF ( Simple Machines ), and was pleased for a time. I invested a lot of effort into getting satisfactory results, but it seems to me that this is not enough…
For some time now I have been thinking about switching to IPB, but I am interested to first hear about the experiences others have had with it. Here I see that the tendency is towards phpBB3 (including a bridge for Joomla), but it seems to me (or maybe I’m wrong) that IPB, which costs 150 $ with all its support, offers more after all. In addition,Invision Power Services will soon issue its own CMS ( IP.Nexus & IP.Dynamic ), but this is another subject altogether…
What interests me is your opinion on IPB? Is it really worth so much money?

    • I've never personally used IPB on my sites so have only been a user on the forums, it seems pretty good with all the added features but do you need all the added features?

    • Sorry to dig up this old topic but after doing a search could not find anything else with regards to ipb, are their any immediate plans to have ipb skins, or can anyone match up phpbb3 themes to ipb.

I like phpBB but I would prefer to go with ipb but as I have a lovely Quantive WordPress theme I want to have the forum matching.
