After certain negative experiences with phpBB2 I switched to SMF (
Simple Machines
), and was pleased for a time. I invested a lot of effort into getting satisfactory results, but it seems to me that this is not enough…
For some time now I have been thinking about switching to IPB, but I am interested to first hear about the experiences others have had with it. Here I see that the tendency is towards phpBB3 (including a bridge for Joomla), but it seems to me (or maybe I’m wrong) that IPB, which costs 150 $ with all its support, offers more after all. In addition,Invision Power Services will soon issue its own CMS ( IP.Nexus & IP.Dynamic ), but this is another subject altogether…
What interests me is your opinion on IPB? Is it really worth so much money? - Neotronic.net

- I've never personally used IPB on my sites so have only been a user on the forums, it seems pretty good with all the added features but do you need all the added features?

Sorry to dig up this old topic but after doing a search could not find anything else with regards to ipb, are their any immediate plans to have ipb skins, or can anyone match up phpbb3 themes to ipb.
I like phpBB but I would prefer to go with ipb but as I have a lovely Quantive WordPress theme I want to have the forum matching. - Bricks & Books - Lego & Discworld Fansite
