SMF vs phpBB3

    • SMF integration is a thing of the past since updates will no longer be available (at least by the authors, hacks might work). If RT is doing a bridge, will they begin creating phpbb3 themes that are identical to the most popular RT templates?

    • Can someone from RT verify that there will be a phpBB bridge and RT templates for the same in the near future? Make sense and would be a good solution. I see a business expansion opportunity perhaps?

I did find some phpBB bridges (I think JoomlaHacks has one). Are the current phpBB bridges to Joomla inadequate? Is there one bridge that is recommended?

      Thanks,

      Robert

    • James,

Nothing that works with 1.013 or 1.014? Anyone have any other info on the phpBB bridges available and their usefulness?

    • phpBB3 has alot more features then SMF1, but I think SMF2 can become something cool. Even though I would recommend using phpBB3 today.

Actually yes there is it goes with the Community Builder as a plugin CBConnector I have been using it since the alpha stage and it works great still in the beta though . But it works with 1.0.X

    • John,

The CB Connector is at the top of my list after doing some further research. Your experience has been good with it?

Anyone have any experience using Elearning Force's phpBB bridge (commercial)? Have you tried any other open source forum bridges?

    • No problems at all with the bridge so far, I have been happy with it and it has given me little cause to worry. I have issue with he CBC wrapper but that seems something more related to my site then the wrapper a conflict of some kind.
