How ugly are all those hosts, do you want to pay for almost nothing?
It actually pisses me off really much.
Why are you always so aggressive to people on this forum? Maybe he didn't want to join with the company you get $94 from if he joins? All yours posts seem to attack people, like the guy that tried to help you with putting the image to the left, you attacked him that he wasn't listening to you, and earlier you attacked me when I wouldn't write a step by step tutorial for you on how to put technozine into a vbulletin header.

      Seriously, lighten up

I am not being agressive, also I am not going for the money, I thought I should just say that because it does takes off 50 dollars if you sign up. I'm not doing any trouble in here. If you actually read what Im saying, is that Im just mad because I see people saying oh wow 1gb webspace for 50 dollars a month thats a really good offer :O

    • I found this in Dreamhost Panel:

      # VPN

A Virtual Private Network (VPN) is a encrypted tunnel from DreamHost to your computer, through which all your communications with your server will take place. Thus, although your data will still traverse the public Internet, it will be protected from prying eyes by strong encryption.

VPN is not the same thing as VPS

VPN is a networking tunnel, usually over the internet, used to remotely connect to corporate networks

VPS is a virtual private server.

it may be a better offer

      dreamhost simply offers shard hosting.

where as gridserver is basically a high availability server cluster, two totally different things.

    • Anything new on Grid Server now?

I'm on MidPhase. They've been great so far.

    • I used to host my site on Site5 (shared hosting) and it was a nightmare. Sure lots of users have good experience at Site5, but it really depends on which server you're on. I, among many others are the unlucky ones and our sites go down ALL THE TIME (like a couple of hours every day and 2 days a week). Just go to WebHostingTalk and search for Site5 and you'll get an idea :(

I thought about DreamHost coz their plans are super. No one can beat their offers. A friend of mine hosts his site with them and the experience is actually pretty good, the speed is very fast and I don't think he'll ever be able to use up all the crazy extra storage and bandwidth DH's throwing at him every week.

Although DH does go down once in a while (maybe once every 4-5 months, in my friend's case. Always fixed quickly), but I'd say that it's pretty amazing stats given the amount of sites they're hosting. And whenever there is a problem, DH is very quick to tell everyone about it on their official blog so customers know what's going on and what the DH team is doing to solve the issue (and prevent it from happening again). Unlike at Site5, where all the "what happened to my site" threads got deleted as soon as the admins see them. Site5 does not announce "server-down" problems either (although they do have a forum for this purpose).

But then since DH does not offer reseller hosting (which I need for my web design clients), and I cannot take the risk of my clients' web sites going down once every few months (even only for 30 minutes or something), I decided that I would go for a managed VPS solution (which means the hosting company will take care of the upgrades and fixes and stuff for me although I have root access to my server).

I did a lot of research on the WebHostingTalk forum, picked DEHE and LiquidWeb based on users' recommendations, then I sent them a couple of emails asking tons of questions just too see how their support go. And I finally landed with LiquidWeb (also LiquidWeb had a promotion going on during that time :D ). I've been with them for about 6 months now and the server was never down. The speed might not be as good as DH but I'm happy with the stability and quick support.

I'm paying 50usd a month, by the way, for 20GB storage and 200GB transfer.
