.net (asp.net) on the other hand is super extensible so will continue to grow long into the future.
hopefully you are stubborn about staying with open source.... if so... go with ruby (on rails)
I divorced myself from using M$ tools - I use to do sites with .asp and .aspx and played around with the Shawn Walker DotNetNuke and Rainbow but after I discovered the Mambo-Joomla! community and minimal resources you can run PHP code in I never looked back.
