Dave...
Just having a browes through your portfolio. Great voice over work mate! Man you do some classic and funny charactors!
Thanks, Justin. Appreciate the compliments. Those spots are just the ones that I could get my hands on. I was in the hospital back in 1998 for over a year (another year and a half of rehab) and some friends cleaned up my condo (trying to help) and threw out some old tape boxes of spots that I had. A lot of my best stuff just went down the drain - audio and video - gone forever.
Dave...
I won't go into how much of thios stuff I've gone thru.. a bunch.
Project mgmt is different than CRM/CMS stuff... as you know.
One that I don't see in the list are:http://www.phprojekt.com/ - very mature project... and is stable on every install I have. I don't use it, but I have two clients that love it.
For my personal use I use a suite of products that all work together... but none are even remotely tied to Joomla.
www.mindmanager.com
- Tony Buzan mind mapping app... that has an app that sits on top of it from.....
www.gyronix.com
- Results Manager - based on David Allens' Getting Things Done methodology (
www.davidco.com
)
Both of them integrate with all MS apps, and I do mean all. Vision, Project Manager, Word,etc..... and I have heard they play well with OpenOffice as well.
I've used them for about 6 months with no major issues.
he thing I like most is that they provide me solutions for just about everything I do, but allow me to think seperately about each componenty.
The integrate with Outlook... which integrates with Quickbooks.... which works with Outlook Business Customer Management... which has a SmartPhone app...... where my Time To Time software is installed. Time to Time is an app that posts directly into Quickbooks...
sooooo....
I can create an entry into Mind Manager for a project... which reports to Outlook... which syncs with my phone...which reminds me to start the timer for a project... which sends it back to Quickbooks...and I get paid according to my actuall time spent. Any entry made on any device.. syncs with the other pieces.
And... if someone wants the project in MS Project... I can export it for them. If they want to send me one... I can import into MM.
I'm going to be dropping Quickbooks...and am in the process of moving to Small Business Accounting... which means the entries into BCM will report directly to it. (I have NOT got that to work yet btw... but am working on it at a snail's pace)
It's really not as confusing as I may make it sound. Download MM's trial. I have alot of clients that use it as a project manager. It's very simple...can be exported to html.. blah blah blah blah blah...
I'm really not concerned with whether the tool works with Joomla or not. I can use a stand alone app. that's not an issue. You're post is chocked full of good stuff.
QUESTION (for anyone): What would be the best PHP app for project management for web development, or is that a non-issue here?
