Need a plugin for auto-resizing pictures.

    • I think some of you are still missing the point here. I don`t need a program to resize images. I need a plugin for Joomla resizing them automatically when adding new articles.

I`ll try to explain it one more time, please read carefully! ;)

When I put up an article at the top of my page I want the image in the spesific article on the frontpage to be let`s say 200x120 px (example), but since I only want one article on my frontpage using the whole width, article #2, #3, #4 and so on will need to have the articleimage resized.

So that when I put a new article on top of the page, the article that was in that position is pushed down, and the articleimage is resized to the desired size.

      Got it? :)

    • No, it wasn`t meant just for you. Look at page one, and you`ll see that not everybody understands what I want. :)

    • This sounds like a simple request but in reality it's not so simple to accomplish. If I were you, I would look towards something like SuperBlogger or K2 as a component to accomplish this.

Most of the time what you find is either a gallery component that resizes pictures but not in an article or an article component that formats an article and doesn't resize pictures. SuperBlogger does both and lets you choose the intro display size and the main article size for the picture. K2 will do even more but their stable live site version isn't quite out yet. They do have a "Pre-Release" version out for free though.

    • You have recommended Superblogger for me earlier in this thread, but I bougth it, and played around with it for a while, but I couldn`t get it to work as I wanted. Can you please point me in the right direction if you know how to fix this?

    • Here's the SuperBlogger documentation page:

Here's the K2 community page and network with more information scattered throughout:

      http://k2community.joomlaworks.gr/

You may also want to try to posting in the Marketplace here and hiring someone to configure one of these extensions for you if you're having trouble:

Anything you want to add is going to take some practice and some playing around with. It's impossible for an extension to exactly what you want so you'll have to find the one that has the settings you want to use and then change them to your needs. Honestly, the majority of the time, it's easier to just make a standard size template for your images and add them to you article in the size you desire. If it's a matter of users being able to figure out how to enter an article on your site, I've also found that anyone who can learn to use an extension can learn to use Joomla and standard image sizes just as easily.
