    Someone use MamboServe?

Posted 17 years 10 months ago
    • Hello RTeers!
I would like to know if someone use www.mamboserve.com and have some returns about this company.
The Corporate Plan (25000 MB Data Storage, 400 GB Data Transfer, 30 Domains Hosted) seems to be good!
      Thanks

    • Franke, I just heard of them from you, so I don't know much.

For $9.95 that is a boat load of storage space. It's almost unbelieveable. I've looked around on their website and it seems legitimate, but I have no idea. Be careful. Study it much!

    • Hi Dave! The Enterprise plan is more incredible! look at this:
$ 13.33 monthly (if paid annually)
      Data Storage: 40000 MB
      Data Transfer: 500 GB
      Domains Hosted: Unlimited
      FREE Domain Registration

      MySQL databases: Unlimited
      Database storage: 250 MB
      etc.

The live chat is very responsive. I had some answers imediately about ioncube and the girl know really about Zend/lib. Good point for them I think. Yes, I'm really interested. Nobody is using this host? What you are thinking guys?

    • I really don't know, Frank. Can they provide you with some example sites that they host? I'd call the site if you can.

40GB sounds incredible for just $13.33/mo. I hope it's not some elaborate scam.

    • I saw this company for first time in a JoomlaHacks.com Newsletter:

      Dear member:

MamboServe.com hosting services will be offering big discount to all JoomlaHacks members.
This promo will not be advertised anywhere so mark your calendar.

This coming Saturday only! January 13.

      BUSINESS PACKAGE:
      - 15,000 MB Hosting
      - 300 GB Transfer
      - FREE Doman Hosting
      - Only $4.95 per month! (you save $12.00 + $5.00 for 1 year)

      CORPORATE PACKAGE:
      - 25,000 MB Hosting
      - 400 GB Transfer
      - FREE Doman Hosting
      - Only $7.95 per month! (you save $24.00 + $5.00 for 1 year)

      What do you think Dave?
However, your suggestion to call them is good but really impossible for me. I can write a little in english but at the phone... I'll not understand for sure! :(

      - FREE Doman Hosting

Do they mean free domain registration?

    • Franks: Well, If they are in the JoomlaHacks newsletter, then it must be safe. Just the huge storage is min boggling to me.

GollumX: I think they charge more than average to register a domain and then host it for free, hoping that you'll upgrade eventually. That's how the hosting company that I'm using does. Plus, the charge for domain transfer. I think you have to transfer before you get the 'free' hosting. It's just a way to make less money and call it 'free'.

    • In the Business and Corporate plans you must buy the domain (if you want one) for $5. But in the Enterprise plan one doamin name is for free.
You can see a link in the footer of main page directly to the JoomlaHacks forum. I don't know if there a relation between JoomlaHacks and MamboServe.
I'm thinking to buy the Enterprise plan next month... ::)

    • Tread Lightly Franck, Buyer BEWARE
Maybe host one or two sites for a while, see how things go, and what kind of support you get.
Use some domain tools and whois see how many sites they have on the servers IP.
      Like So:
      Server Data
      IP Address: 216.65.1.131
IP Location: United Kingdom - Liquidnet Ltd
      Blacklist Status: Clear
SSL Cert: secureworldpay.supremecenter.com expires in 518 days
      Website Status: Active
NS History: 3 changes. Using 3 unique name servers in 4 years.
IP History: 2 changes. Using 2 unique IP addresses in 3 years.
Whois History: 16 records have been archived since 2005-03-11
Reverse IP: 3,781 other sites hosted on this server.

Do some searches to find some actual customer reviews...
Hosting companies come and go and I have seen so many horror stories.........
      Like Stephen says:
