Transfering your Dev site to Live site?

Can I copy those tables only in the mysql or is it better to do through Joomlapack? What about the author info that wont match up in the devs user tables? Will those just revert to admin if I copy the content/categories tables and not the user tables? Thanks again Yves. - Great Links:

So you won't be able to apply incremental updates as you've mentioned.
If it's a 'big change' such as adding a a larger third party component you've never used before, test it on the dev site.
If it works, simply install it on the live site.
Also note that you may not want to upload some of the changes you make on a dev site to the live site, for example, if you are trying to decide which gallery component to use, you may download and install three different components.
In the end, you'll only want to install the component you've decided to use.
Besides that you may install something that causes conflicts with other components.
So you wouldn't want to be uploading all those changes.
