Aproximate cost of a professional template

Hi there,
Recently I joined your website and got few templates to play arround. I have to say I liked very much the quality of your works.
I am posting in the forum to know how much would it cost to me a personalised template based on Versatility II.
I understand it is difficult to say a figure, but I am afraid I do not have the specifications now. What I need is a broad range of prices to have an idea. I understand that figures are only orientative and subjet to change.
Please let me know so that I would push forward the new website based on joomla and I would come back to you later with a document of specifications to get a real budget.

You are going to find a wide range of figures quoted, but here is a guidline as best I can lay it out:
Most estimates will be based on a rate of between $50 and $100 (US) per hour.
How many hours it would take to complete your template depends on a lot of factors. If it is a simple logo replacement (and the logo already exists), then almost no time at all.
I am currently working on a site for a client who had a graphic designer create a concept for a site (prior to selecting Joomla!), and they wanted that exact site, (essentially down to the pixel) replicated in Joomla!. I am almost done with their site, and there was a lot to do beyond just the template, but the template itself has taken over 40 hours at this point.
I used Pixel Perfect as a base to work from on this project, which helped quite a bit. Unfortunately many of the requirements for the site (one example is relocating the print and email icons to a location other than the article) required hacking the Joomla! core, and in turn proved to be a bit of a headache to get working properly in multiple browsers.
If you are looking to keep costs down, find a template that has colors, fonts and module locations that you can live with. Adding graphics, image rotators, etc. is fairly easy compared to rolling out a whole new color scheme and/or typography settings.
Finally, there are a number of talented folks here. When you have a list of functional requirements (or even a Photoshop mockup) of what you are looking for, you can communicate with those of us that might be interested, and we can give you quotes/estimates of what we think it would take to get the template customized to your specifications.

I feel seriously deprived. I have Fireworks and use it for image editing. I have NO idea how to slice a Fireworks mockup into usable html, etc. I'm guess there are tutorials out there, I just haven't had a chance to learn.
I started doing websites because my tennis club needed someone to maintain their site. I read an HTML book once and said I could do it and get by. Once introduced to Mambo/Joomla, I was hooked. So basically I jumped in and am learning this as I go. These "new-fangled" tools confuse me. lol
