I did a clean install of Joomla 2.5 yesterday. Installed gantry and Reflex template. I had the same problems as described in the rest of the thread with blank areas in tabs and items not saving. In the end to solve it I had to uninstall gantry via extensions manager AND delete the administrator/components/com_gantry directory manually, and then install gantry (the latest version described here in this thread via extensions manager. That solved the problems for me. Best I can tell, installing the previous version of gantry in 2.5 created some issue that corrupted the directory as I kept getting permission denied errors when trying to work in the com_gantry directory.

- Another issue I have found and maybe I might not be using the new 2.5 correctly. I have installed all latest 1.7 rocket Theme extensions. All of them looks to have installed however I do not see any of the modules.

- Just create a new module in the Module Manager and chooser the kind you want. They are not auto created in "left" position as they were in Joomla 1.5.

I upgraded a Joomla 1.7.4 site that uses Momentum to Joomla 2.5 and everything works perfectly. I can save the template layouts & features in Gantry.
I used the Extension Manager>Update feature to upgrade to Joomla 2.5 I also used the Extension Manager>Update feature to upgrade to the latest Gantry component 3.2.15
Everything displays correctly in the front end & in the back end. Gantry works fine and I am able to make and save changes.
As far as I can tell everything is working perfectly.
