    • I did the upgrade again the other day. Had updated everything that had a 2.5 update available.

Didn't see any issues. Gantry settings seemed to work and save properly.

But I use JCK Editor and that was glitchy. Inserting images wasn't working, among more serious bugs.

I then installed JCE (which has a 2.5 version) and that seems fine.

I have Joomla 2.5 and Gantry 3.2.15 and Radiance installed.

Still.... I rolled back to 1.7.4 after testing to give things a bit more time to mature and for the rest of the 2.5 updates for my extensions to come out.

Moral of the story, if you use JCK Editor, wait for an update, cause it will give you some problems.

capitalized text like "COM_USERS_NOTES" means an untranslated language string. Nothing to worry about.

I am not concerned about that.

The only outstanding issue I have is that in Mission Control is that if I check-box user to delete - these are test users registered directly and through the front-end - they do not delete with the error message "please slect users to delete - or words to that effect.

Not sure if is a Joomla 2.5 User Admin or Mission Control template issue. I have other priorities today, but unless this is a known issue I will test it by temporarily switching back to the default Admin template and see if I can delete the users then.

It isn't an issue that holds my work back, but I would like to delete test users without deleting their mySQL database records.

This is the first I've heard of it, but i'll certainly look into it. Could well be a 2.5 thing.

    • Andy - That delete user function now suddenly works on my PC - I guess it must have been a local issue - JS or something - I don't know.

Apologies for the false alarm anyway.

At this point then, everything including templates and RT extensions - including RokBridge - is functioning as expected under Joomla 2.5 :D

I want to do more exhaustive testing and will report back here if I find anything further.

    • Reporting back to this thread - I been running on Joomla 2.5, upgraded from 1.74, for a few days now, and have not found any major issues - it look solid to me.

Again, my setup is: RT Radiance with its Extensions etc, RT Mission Control, phpBB3/RokBB3/RokBridge Beta - awesome work Roeland BTW - Akeeba Admin Tools, Akeeba Backup Pro, JCE.

I am thinking about upgrading my custom version of RokQuickCart to Joomla 2.5. It includes digital file downloads, special offer codes and a plugin to dynamically insert products from the store in to any content page or module. It is in Joomla 1.5 right now - not sure if I will have the time to update it from there.

Anyway - great work as usual RT on all your stuff, which is 2.5 compliant at my end - looks like we are good to go :D

    • Actually, I'm curious as to how long we're gonna need to wait for 2.5 updates. It hasn't been that long since we got 1.6/1.7 updates, and had to wait forever for those. I hate to complain, and you guys do a great job... but seriously, we need these theme updates sooner than when they've been getting released. Many of the other theme providers, specifically Yootheme, has had 2.5 updated themes for two weeks now. We pay for subscriptions, so we need RT to step it up. Can't continue to renewing subscriptions just to stay nearly one Joom update behind.

Like I said, I mean no offense, and I have the highest respect for the RT crew. But, you guys need to kick these updates out a lot quicker than how its been.

Did you actually read this thread before posting?

I am am using Joomla 2.5.1 after upgrading from 1.7.4, and every RT product I have installed already works flawlessly under 2.5x.

I don't know whether other RT members have any issues, but if so they are probably minor - or not related to RT at all - or much older templates. All the RokExtensions for 1.7x work perfectly under 2.5x.

If there are any minor issues, I am sure RT can fix them quickly - because they will be minor.

As for how far back RT should retrospectively update their templates to keep up with Joomla releases - I don't think it is reasonable for them to go back further than January 2011 or before Joomla 1.5.

Nobody is asking me - I am offering an opinion. I speak for myself.

My view is that I would prefer RT to focus on new and recent templates and to maintain their high standard, instead of diverting resources to legacy templates.

Keep in mind that it isn't only the templates to consider. If a template has RT Extensions included - which is usual - they all need to be compatible with the template if it is updated to a later version of Joomla.

RT has to drawl a line somewhere - it is up to them where they draw that line.

I am simply putting forward my view that I personally would prefer RT to focus on new monthly templates and extensions than to commit time and resources retrospectively towards updating any legacy template more than say a year old.

Again - this is my opinion - I am not entering in to a debate about it.
