Log and Temp directories are "Unwriteable"

Posted 10 years 4 months ago
    • On an rt_ionosphere 2.5 template all directories have the same owner, group and permissions (_www:_www 755). All of the directories shown in the System Information->Directory Permissions report are "Writeable" except the Log directory and the Temp directory.

I am trying to update from 2.5.8 to 2.5.11, but can't do this until I have access to those directories. I tried changing to 775, but it had no effect.

What could be causing this problem and what is the solution?

      Thanks in advance.

    • Try 757, that must work...but you shouldn't use it because it might be a security risk. 755 is recommended but you need to fix the files/folders ownership in order for that to work properly.

    • The ownership/permissions are the same as the other directories that are writeable. What should they be?

    • Well I guess you must have some other security feature active (like geo blocking) because I just get you're home page.
