Line 414 error shuts down site continuously. Help?

Posted 11 years 1 month ago
    • We use AVChat on RemovingChains.org which is a Joomla 3.1.5 site with the latest Gantry and all. When I test the new mobile version that AVChat offers it works for a bit then I get a Gantry error that shuts down the whole site for all computer and mobile users. Since I don't know what to do I just upload Gantry again but I know that is now a permanent fix and I am not always around when it happens.

Here is the error, can someone tell me what to change and why this may be happening so I can inform AVChat why as well?

Fatal error: Call to a member function isEnabled() on a non-object in /home/removech/public_html/libraries/gantry/core/gantry.class.php on line 414

    • Could you just try clearing server cache and see if it recurs....

site > maintenance > clear cache - tick all - DELETE on J2.5

Could you also ensure that all other RT extensions are up-to-date too.

      Regards, Mark.

    • Hi MrT,

Thanks for responding. I cleared the system> clear cache and am just reminding that this is all on Joomla 3.1.5

These Rok extensions are the only full ones installed and are all up to date; RokBox, RokNavMenu, RokSprocket, RokAjaxSearch

      Then there are these which I need advice on;
      * RokPad (Editor) I disabled because the download page is offline.. but it showed it was up to date I just do not use it.
      * RokCandy was current but I disabled it since I don't know how to use it.
      * RokQuicklinks I disabled & removed since it was part of Mission Control which is incompatibly with Joomla 3.1.5. Mission Control had been removed but this extension did not remove or disable itself
      * ButtonRokGallery had been disabled and is now removed since RokGallery had been taken off our site
      * RokAdminAudit I disabled since it was apparently just part of Mission Control which is incompatible with Joomla 3.1.5. Mission Control had been removed but this extension did not remove or disable itself
      * RokStats I disabled since it was apparently just part of Mission Control which is incompatible with Joomla 3.1.5. Mission Control had been removed but this extension did not remove or disable itself
      * RokUserChart I disabled since it was apparently just part of Mission Control which is incompatible with Joomla 3.1.5. Mission Control had been removed but this extension did not remove or disable itself
      * RokUserStats I disabled since it was apparently just part of Mission Control which is incompatible with Joomla 3.1.5. Mission Control had been removed but this extension did not remove or disable itself

Please advise whether I need to remove any or all of those above, then clear the cache in Joomla 3.1.5 and try a test again.

    • Hi Mark,

I gave you the log-in info yesterday but realize now when I check back in that I did not tell you how to duplicate the error. What makes it happen is accessing our site, removingchains.org , VIA SMART PHONE DEVICE.

Once on the site log-in using the user provided then it takes you to the page where you can access the main chat rooms. Click to launch mobile chat. You can go into any of the rooms and just start leaving text comment, even if nobody else is there. At some point after about four to six messages its seems, the site will come back with that error, often after leaving the chat.

Fatal error: Call to a member function isEnabled() on a non-object in /home/removech/public_html/libraries/gantry/core/gantry.class.php on line 414

The message is there right now but I do not know if you have been on trying to do anything. I know the maker of AVChat was on changing the welcome message for us. I make the site live again by re-installing the latest Gantry. Can I go ahead and do that or are you in there working?

    • I am looking at it right this minute - and was just about to ask you how to recreate it.... let me try what you said.... I have made one change - to disable the "menu module" cache in template manager - you should not have that on if your users login to your site....

    • Thanks Mark,

Good on the menu module cache. I do not know where that is or why it was enabled. But I am glad you knew it needed to be shut off.

    • MrT,

Yes it is still very much an issue. If yu test it by logging in thru the front end ON A SMART PHONE using the information I gave you it will take you directly to the chat rooms area. You can go to the welcome room for instance and leave a series of six random messages or so. Chances are that that message will come up before you are done OR when you attempt to leave the chat room by clicking "Leave Chat". Normally this would take you back to the main pages but what has been happening is the error message comes up blocking access to any pages.from the front end of the site.
