    • Couldn't get this to work with Firefox 3 so decided to see if Firefox 4 was out of Beta yet, which it was, so upgraded (Thanks Firefox for letting everyone know!). Now all the Javascript works fine and I am liking this template a lot more. :D

      I can write a quick blog post soon explaining how we did it. It's actually very simple: just involved 1 css3 rule and few php lines to ensure it goes away after few times you load the page. :)

      I'm glad you guys enjoyed it. It was also funny for us coming up with this idea, different from the usual 1st of April around the web.

      If you want to see it again, you can clear your cookies and will appear again.

    • Entropy, the April 2011 release, is a truly artistic piece, segregating its layout into distinctly designed panes, that are independently styled and configurable. The separated nature of Entropy allows for a visually enticing appearance, as well as catering for a more conservative look, simply by unpublishing or moving module positions.

      It is unfortunate that the template is a work of art, I regret waiting so long for more of the same and decreasing quality.
      Will continue well? or should we look for other suppliers? :evil:

      These comments come up EVERY month and I feel like i'm repeating myself every month when i say the following....

      The fundamental issue here is that we provide a "club" subscription. That means that we are basically giving you the keys to the candy store for a set amount of time. You have access to download and use any template we offer. Some people seem to think that this means that EVERY template has to be perfect for their individual tastes, but that's simply impossible.

      Whenever we create simple designs, we get blasted by those people that like more visual enticing styles. Whenever we create more different/unique/interesting designs we get blasted by those that want the simpler/cleaner/more business style designs. It's a no-win situation for us, we simply cannot please everyone all the time.

      We use this subscription model because we feel it's best for our users. We are basically letting people choose, and change their minds and provide immense amounts of options, extensions, forum access, etc for a very low price. Trust me, it certainly is way more work for us, and we take a lot more abuse and negativity in the forums than we would if we used a per-template-fee model that many other providers use. This is because people feel that because they paid to access all our templates, all our templates must be usable by them.

      You see what i'm saying here? If you don't like ANY of the templates, you probably should not of joined in the first place. If you like only one, then basically you still got a good deal because that price is still a bargain for the template plus extensions, plus forum access. If you like more than one, you've really got a fantastic deal.

      Getting back to the original purpose of this thread: This one-page-design in particular, although we showcased it in the demo with "Event" content, it can be used for many things. We were actually inspired by these awesome application sites:

      * www.alfredapp.com/
      * www.zennaware.com/cornerstone/index.php
      * versionsapp.com/
      * www.kaleidoscopeapp.com/
      * www.madebysofa.com/

      These sites are basically on the cutting edge of modern web design, and if you want your content to stand out, this one-page style is all the rage. We now have this style in our portfolio and feel like we've done the best implementation of it that we possibly could. If you were craving this kind of style, you've got a great option in Entropy. If you have no interest in this style, sit back, relax, enjoy one of our 100+ other templates, or wait to see what we put together next month.

      If you have any ideas / concepts / thoughts about future designs, we have a Requests forum: www.rockettheme.com/forum/index.php?f=16&rb_v=viewforum

      We actually use this a lot when coming up with new idea and directions, so if you have an idea for a template that we've not implemented, please post here. You will find a lot of posts in this forum actually led directly to template designs. So we do love to hear from you about your ideas and do try very hard to make them into a reality.

      I knew you were going to get slammed as soon as I read the email notification on your post.

      Here is a little advice: Drink the Kool-Aid and keep your head down. Or, you will soon find out that your negative comments in this thread will get responded to much faster than your support questions in the other threads.

      BTW - I think the new template is really nice.
      Good Job!
