I am a very happy customer of Rockettheme and I enjoy each month's template release even if it does not exactly fit my personal needs exactly...

The idea behind using a template is that you contribute that extra 10% towards the design to customise it to your personal needs.
I agree, but certain templates are more conducive to certain design concepts...at least for someone of my knowledge level...Posse wrote:

I can't see it really...it seems kind of bulky to me, not enough fine detail...Crystalline may have more potential...

    • I think we've got way too many "dark" templates and less clean ones. I'm expecting RT to be the best. So far so good as designers. I'd just like to see more clean templates with greater possibilities and some more extensions for different types of activities, not just design and dynamic content. Maybe an auction or a booking extension. Maybe some more choices regarding main features like the menu (right now I need a lot of CSS+JS knowledge to personalize the same roknav). Help us innovate our businesses not just our designs.
Hopefully this would be read by decision makers and I ain't upsetting anyone around.
Again, design-like: amazing! But don't forget, for some of us,Joomla! has to be used for portals with a lot of information... and new ideas, new extensions - to really help our businesses - are highly appreciated. I don't wanna pay some another providers and I like to believe I'm sitting with the best.

    • Another idea...

...I've run into a template that comes with the a customized 404 error page built-in and thought it would be nice to have this type feature on Rockettheme templates...

There are separate components out there that provide this functionality, but a couple of them that I tried "hijacked" the error pages from my "Redirect" extension (which is very useful when changes are made to the site) so these error-links were not being recorded by it...

Maybe they redirected the user to the customized page but didn't return a 404 error, so that the error was not picked up by the Redirect extension?

Anyway, it would be pretty cool to have that feature by default...

    • Brand Newbie that I am, ignorance can be bliss but bliss is overrated. Spent the last few weeks learning to take one step forward and ten steps back. Reading, learning, paying for help, all because I had to use Grunge. Nothing else would do.

AFTER getting help that took three hours of remote recently, I find out Grunge RocketLauncher is now available. Now what? Seems it comes in a pkg with Joomla1.5, Gantry and a lunch. Do I have to get the entire thing trashed and start all over? The guy who helped me isn't answering his phone even though I'm at begging mode and offering my first born child. Anywhere rocketlauncher for grunge comes all by itself as a download?

      hi there,

      welcome to rockettheme.

this isn't really the right topic to ask for a grunge rocketlauncher, but anyways here's the link:
www.rockettheme.com/joomla-downloads/club/1496-grunge (3rd file is the one you'll want)
if it is a good idea or even necessary for you to trash your current install and start over i can't tell cause i really don't know what your problems are. so feel free to start a new topic with the details here: www.rockettheme.com/forum/index.php?f=288&rb_v=viewforum and we'll try to help you there.

      kat :)

Welcome to the club, I can tell you, we've probably all gone down that same road at some point in time :cheesy:
Don't dispair, with determination like that, you are already half way there.

    • I'm halfway there? Is halfway a good thing? Just to clarify...your advise is to trash it all and do it again because RockerLauncher for Grunge can't be separated from the package? I can do that...well.....he can do that....just clarifying that's what has to be done.
