Most of the US folks are asleep. It was late at night when I captured these. Although they have over 5,000,000 residents in SL, there are between 10,000 to 30,000 at any one time. It is growing, however.

- Is there a virtual "Night hawks at the diner" where people can go hang out when the streets of Second Life are empty? ;D

You know, I've thought that exact same thing. Either there is one, or it can be built. There's really no limit in SL.
To be fair, there is also THERE.com
A long time and very prolific builder in SL told me last night that THERE was doing the virtual world thing before Second Life. I haven't tried THERE yet. I just want to know, is there any THERE there?

Yes there is a There...but you can't get THERE from HERE. - I eat my words regularly. I recommend pepper and a hint of basil!

Yes there is a There...but you can't get THERE from HERE.

I don't know if you have seen the Nextel GPS TV commercial with the shabby looking gas station attendants, or not. But I love the line when one them hears the GPS device sounding off, "What did you call me? I give the direction out around here! - "I'm an individual, just like everyone else."

Someone asked if there was anyone else in the worlds that I travel in...
Well, these two ladies went on a hike with me in a very scenic nature world. We stumbled upon an empty cabin in the middle of nowhere, so we made ourselves at home.

Aaron, I just found that here (or there, actually). I'll catch a screen grab tonight.
There is also a digital replica of the IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE movie set. It's snowing too!

I didn't see any characters inside. I have a screen grab that I took last night while the person who built it gave me a tour around. I'm involved in another project with two of the biggest builder/developers in SL (not with Linden Labs). You can see their avatar standing off near the Nighthawks image. I'll get that up tonight.
Here's a few screen grabs of a place in SL that the guy figure in the Nighthawk image had built (Nighthawk image, tonight). - "I'm an individual, just like everyone else."
