Well, I received my sister's cells! Now the watching for adverse reactions begins. They gave anti-rejection meds and I hope that they work as planned. The actual transplant process was amazing to watch and be a part of. I was able to capture a short movie with my cell phone. One can clearly see the tiny cells marching single-file down the IV tube and into my body. I will try to post the video when I get home.
I am in no way out of danger yet! The most common complication for these transplants is "graft versus host disease." This occures when my Sister's cells attack my body as foreign. This is why I will have to stay in Nashville for 100-days from today. I hope I will have no major issues and will be able to live a long and fruitful life.
Thanks for all the support! It really means a lot!

I just had a "scary moment." I was receiving a platelet transfusion when I suddenly started feeling like I was passing-out. My nurse called a "code" on me and I passed-out and was out for about 20 mins. After they revived me, I was told that I had a reaction to the blood product.
Man! I sure don't want to have anymore experiences like that!

***GOOD NEWS***
The medical team of Doctors and Nurses made their rounds this morning. The Chief Oncologist came through as well. He told me that my transplant is showing signs of engraftment. Specifically, my bloodcounts came up on their own last night! My wjite blood cells almost doubled from yesterday! These are the kind of things they look for! I am So happy because it has been such a struggle since my "auto" transplant!
I'm so glad I can share some good news for once!

Congratulations, Mr. Wagers. By the way, it is a unique experience to get play-by-play commentary on the situation that your are going through. Many of us are probably going to have to deal with serious medical issues at some point in our lives, and a big part of the fear involved is due to not knowing what to expect. Your posts have taken away some of the unknown.
Great news Wage! Way to go. Thanks for the updates, great to see after that previous scary moment post that you are back on track and I look forward to reading your blog to full recovery over the coming weeks and months.
Cheers
Michael
