    • The past few days I have developed bruises all over my body. These are not from any injury, they just seem to appear for no reason. I have bruises on my back, stomach, arms and legs. In fact, my left arm looks like I went to a tattoo parlor.

I have researched this issue and from what I have read, this may be a sign that my MDS has progressed into Leukemia. This is not the result I was looking for! I have to return to Nashville next week for them to "check me out!" I'm worried about what they might tell me!

I have to be honest.... I am VERY worried about this! If I get AML, I won't live very long and my last days will not be pleasant.

    • Hi Wage,

Don't forget the human mind is extremely powerful. Bob Champion, the jockey, overcame cancer when he was told he only had months to live.

This is also why placebos work - because the patient believes they are real medication.

So take your mind out of reverse and be positive about moving forward. When you go to sleep just imagine an army of microscopic warriors marching through your body and destroying the enemy. Better still if you can imagine your little army with clarity. Even have them marching to your favourite tune.

As a hypnotist I helped a client treat their severe eczema using this technique and the change was remarkable. Once the eczema started to receed their life became so much more positive that the remaining changes occurred even faster than I expected.

Never underestimate the human mind. Look at all the people who have lifted cars of toddlers with superhuman strength. Sometimes we spend too long thinking and not long enough doing.

Hope it all goes well for you.

      Best wishes

    • Thanks David!
      Words of wisdom as usual!

UPDATE: I had to goto Nashville for a checkup. The Doctors did a complete workup to evaluate my progress. They believe that the bruising could be graft versus host disease..... and/or..... Leukemia could also be a mild possibility. They are gonna have to track it closely.
My medications were changed and the dosages were all changed as well (some up and some down) . It's a real balancing act keeping the anti-rejections drugs at the correct levels in your body.

    • It sounds amazingly difficult to manually do what your body would normally handle for itself. Keep up the fight and I hope things improve soon.

    • It can be trying at times! It's a good thing that I have a med list to help me to remember what to take!

    • Hey Wage! Stay positive, do everything you need to keep your mind in a positive healing state. For instance, start a new hobby, play board games with others or listen to your favorite music. If you can walk, go outside.

Don't forget, it's Winter and since you can't be out in the sun you need to supplement Vitamin D! Slam that immune boosting Vitamin D! vitamind.mercola.com/

If your doctors haven't done so DEMAND that they test your vitamin D levels. If your "25 Hodroxy D" levels are not between 70-100 ng/ml as outline in the image below they are doing you a great disservice. This is a big deal for anyone who has cancer because Vitamin D is the single most important and EASY thing you can do to combat almost any health problem, especially those related to the immune system like cancer

I take 5,000 IU of vitamin D3/day and my levels were 57 ng/ml but I'm a lightweight. Most people need around 8,000 IU's/day and cancer patients need more.

I'd also look into high-dose vitamin C therapy.

    • I just got home again from another stint in the hospital. My blood counts fell dangerously low again and I had another 5 liters of fluid drained from my abdomen. I am now home and feeling better.

    • Hey Wage, good to hear you are feeling better. I came across a recently published medical article online yesterday and read a part that you might be interested in. Not only is Vitamin D3 good for your condition but it looks like when it's consumed with Vitamin K2 there is a beneficial synergistic effect for MDS and leukemia patients.
Mylodysplastic syndromes (MDS) is a disorder related to leukemia, but unlike leukemia, MDS cells can be induced to develop into mature normal cells, and that is where vitamin K shows its role. Vitamin K treatment of bone marrow cells from patients with MDS strongly induces apoptosis of the diseased cells. Vitamin K2 also induces MDS cells to differentiate into healthy white blood cells, even when full-blown leukemia has developed. The combination of vitamin K2 and vitamin D3 achieved good differentiation in a laboratory study of leukemic cells, suggesting that it might be effective therapy for both MDS and leukemia. The oral dose for MDS is 45 to 90 mg of vitamin K2 analogue MK-4 daily.7

You don't have to get K2 from a supplement alone, you can eat delicious foods that contain them too. Natto is the only one that might not taste good as most don't like it. For the rest, which are mostly animal foods, the BIG caveat is they must be fed on GRASS A.K.A. pasture-fed which can be a challenge because they are not sold in regular grocery stores in the states. My advice for food sources is to shop for these items at a local farmers market or find a farmer or look in health food stores. Here's a list of the best food sources of K2:
      FOOD - VITAMIN K2 in MCG/100G
      Natto 1103.4
      Goose Liver Paste 369.0

    • Thanks! I have just been told that I have to completely change my diet. The Dietician said I need to eat more protein. Low protein is what is causing the ascites to build up.

I also learned recently that my liver is in very bad shape due to all the years of chemo and all the other meds I take.
