- I agree, but most sites do not need the social aspects of jomsocial and most of it cannot be turned off.

- Good point, Adam. I totally agree with you. Jomsocial definitely isn't for everyone. If it's just to extend the function of the user profile, then it's CB for sure. Full social site? JS.

I did not know that most aspects of jomsocial cannot be turned off that is a HUGE factor. Do you speak from recent experience when making that statement?

- i have asked support recently and there's no way to turn off the friends function. in a normal membership (not social site) that is not needed and a deal breaker.

- yep, I think it was in the paid forums or a ticket, I cannot remember. wasn't snappy, but I didn't need it to be for whatever reason.

- I'm interested in this discussion. Specifically with membership subscriptions. I know a little about CB Subs. What about on the JomSocial side. Are there any good membership solutions there?

JS or CB
my main objective is to have a site with different kind of subscribers (acl groups) and to have some social capabilities (not all features of JS)
is it still not possible to deactivate features in JS?
