    • The vote is foreign to the gist of this thread.

I often offer my services to people requesting professional help with their templates.

To understand what is acceptable and what is not, simply look at the last few post you've made. The deleted thread was not the first mention of the Logo services. You mentioned the Logo services two/three? times in the preceding day or two. None of those posts were deleted were they?

Simple. Because two different people asked for professional help with their logo's and you pointed them to a professional logo design service. Regardless of whether you had an interest in the logo business you mentioned, your posts was not deleted.

William you need to develop a thick skin. I've had heaps of my posts deleted :)
Don't leave just because of a simple matter like this, you have a lot to offer and a lot to gain. Who else are people to go to when they need logo's? :) Justin (a resident logo master), seems to have fallen off the edge of the earth. Post your link and earn some sales, but only when requested.

      Cheers

    • I think posting a link should be ok if it's relevant to the context of the discussion. A blatant "Hey I customize templates/Logo's for a fee" shouldn't be allowed. If someone posts that they are looking for a service, I think the best way to handle it is to respond via PM or email (if the member allows it).

It's unprofessional and rude to spam someones forum. (Not saying anyone spammed, just a note) I would never use the services of anyone who was so blatant about it.

A good example of the right way to do it is the way Daniel Chapman does. He has a site that sells some stuff and is an active member. But the key is he's an active participant and contributor. He helps people out, makes significant contributions via his participation, makes member submissions and is an asset. He makes things better for RT and the community.

    • seems the who cares is off to a lead
This forum is very well run, and it is a very active and productive one.
I sure hope it does not reach the point where everyone causes a stir over something like this
This is one of the best Drama Free forums out there

    • the people who "couldn't care less" would soon make an about-turn if they could no longer find answers to their solutions because for every informative post with a solution to a template problem there were 20 posts advertising template/logo/hosting/etc services.

Also I know that this is kind of premature on my part as no moderators or admins responded... But I'm hoping they do get involved.. Because I do kind of feel let down now ... Especially after I saw all the "referrals" being handed out publicly on the forum when people stated they needed help... I just figured then it would be ok to recommend a service "before" someone asked.. and then to be deleted and not even a single thread of communication was given to me to tell me I had "broken" the rules.. Just deleted my topic and hoped I wouldn't notice.. Really feel like a tool now.. Like I gave my money to a bunch of nazis... Like I said.. I like it here .. I'd like to stay.. But if my topics are going to be deleted without notice or warning.. Then I might have to pack my bags.. Even though I'd hate to..

No offense to you mate, but if you had read the Terms Of Service agreement, you would have understood the RTTC policy on advertising from day 1.

I have no problem with the advertising policy at all, I'm not here to solicit work and anyone that is is in the wrong site.
Do keep in mind that you can always PM folks that need help to offer your services.

      Cheers!

    • I believe all opinions have been expressed in this thread. I am going to close it now and wait for a definitive answer from Rocket Theme.
