White screen for website and admin login?

I developed this site around a month ago and since then have made no changes at all to it.
I have come to it today both admin and home page and I just get a blank white screen for both. I have checked the server status and that is fine.
I have Googled this and it seems this happens after upgrades atc of which i have done none.
Can someone help me out please?

UPDATE:
I have just been online with the host company and they tell me the following is the problem.. I have no idea what this means though

this is the error that appears to be causing your site not to load

Hi Julian,
Long time no see.
I tried to find a solution for you, but with that error, I'm afraid you will have to do some digging around on Google.
Lots of valid suggestions, don't know which one is your solution.
Seems that you are missing a semicolon in a bit of your code.

Yeah, i was searching Google yesterday also and there seems a lot of similar cases. I dont know what its all about. I have installed nothing new since the last time the site was working but now I not sure how to get in and make any changes..
I can see myself going for a clean install
How's Japan, Im off to live in Malaysia early next year... we will almost be neighbours lol

- Maybe a long shot guess, but double check what PHP version is running by default for you. If an htaccess file was overriding that or a php.ini file was, it may have been reset or something. That's a core php file, so that's why I ask. Some servers will knock you back to PHP 5.2.

The PHP version is 3.4.11.1
As for everything else you have said... It has gone right over my head

I think the code Ninja, Ben has hit the nail on the head.
Gotta have some flavor of PHP5 running.
If you can change the version through your CP, do so, if not, contact your host.
The latest templates all require at least 5.2 or 5.3. - Thanks,

Thanks to both of you, so If I get my host to bump me to 5.2 or 5.3 should that then replace the missing/faulty code?

Strange, My control panel is showing PHP version 5.2.17 now.
Site is still down.
Is there anything else I can do?

I have been Googling this and Im not sure what to do really. I may just go for a fresh instal. I did however copy the view.html.php from another joomla site of mine and that produced an 'error 500' message which was at least something
