On the windows side there is a tool called HTTrack Website Copier.
It is a handy tool for some things but many of these guys might use a tool just like this to pull down your complete site...images and all.
I have used this tool to make a "static" version of a Joomla site I did work on and it does a real good job replicating. - Magento - phpBB3 - Kunena - RokBridge Specialist

- Well, I got a 404 when I tried the copycat sites. Just for curiosity I checked Google cache. Dang, they just ripped you off! Thankfully - they're gone now. Hopefully - there aren't anymore out there.

Its time to look at your security or hosting provider, this is very worrying! :shock:

- hmm... his sites are all disappearing -- either Thomas is really good at sending cease and desist letters, or Mr. Theif if realizing there isn't much money to be made scamming other developers in the long run. Either way, this sort of stuff is embarrassing -- there are so many well-made templates here at RT that can be tweaked for a personal feel that it should be completely unnecessary to completely steal someone's full design.
