- Thanks, all I need now is more time to spend developing templates that are worth buying. Too much work on at the moment (not that I'm complaining, mind you), but I'd love to have more time to work on new template ideas.

So why don't we just start a link exchange thread? Everyone could just post site URL's and a point of contact. You can browse through and look for sites that would be good to link with.

Doesn't it help every time we shamelessly promote our sites in the forum? RocketTheme has a fairly high ranking, and for a small site like mine, adding a link in a post like
www.austintennisclub.com/
(*cough cough*) always seems to boost traffic.
Of course, a lot of us have little region specific sites and we're not really trying to actively increase our rankings, but we'd be open to help others.

I could be wrong but if I remember correctly your google PR will indeed go up suddenly because of Googles "refresh" (or something like that) and If I recall correctly this is a quarterly occurrence for google ie every 3 months or so .....If I am remembering something I read about it somewhere correctly.....

Also, Ive launched my site this month with 0 sites linking to mine. 18 days after launch an Admin of www.xbox-scene.com makes an announcement on this frontpage on the HUGE and VERY popular xbox site... I have no Idea how he found us but ok... 19 days after Launch my site already has more than 1000 members and hundreds of sites linking to the site.
But no PageRank yet... a friend (admin of xboxusersgroup.com) tells me when the time comes, my pagerank will go from 0 to like... 4-6 - Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.

No. RT.com is PR 07/10 - Alexa 4,309 (which is killer rankings). The forum is 0/10. Alexa is the same because Alexa only reports on the TLD. I'm not sure but I don't think the forum is indexed. Your traffic spike is coming from people clicking the link (like I just did).
Anyway, link exchange would be nice.

I am currently working on a little site that will basically allow us to submit our websites and clients sites - Basically it will find relevant sites based on your targeted keywords (words you want to be found under). It will then then generate the source code with link and keyword description text and send it to the relevant site owners to put on the site.
I am building it in a way that will eliminate reciprocal links but generate "better" one way links. (one way links are far better then reciprocal) There are a few things that will rely on the individual owners and the community in general to make sure that everyone wins.
I will let you all know when I am further down the track and get you to help with testing it etc. (it will be a free community) Including my clients sites I have over 100 websites that I look after and I am sure that you all have clients who want to improve their rankings along with your own personal sites so depending on numbers each site involved should be able to have a really good number of one way keyword rich links coming for relevant /semi relevant websites......
