    BEST HOSTING FOR JOOMLA

Posted 17 years 8 months ago
    • My current host is stressing me out!
      Everyday the same problems.
I have seen reviews of web hosts, but I want to hear form the members here.
Any one here getting really great hosting service for their Joomla website?
Great enough to recommend with guarantee?

    • I prefer a host that will allow me to host several websites, say between 6 to 10 domains on one account, but without all the hassle and downtime.

    • Over the years, I have had problems with all my hosts except GoDaddy. I try to get my clients to go with them b/c the ones who don't cost me extra work dealing with permissions problems, security, etc.

Their deluxe package lets you host multiple domains under one account. It's an extremely good value at $6.99/mo. if you look at the disk space and bandwidth.

    • I use the following and all are GREAT:
      httpme.com
      bluewho.com
      hostgator.com

They use Web Host Manager and Cpanel. Pay the extra dough and get a reseller account for much more control. Remember, you get what you pay for and if it sounds too good to be true it probably is. I have heard nothing but horror stories about Godaddy for hosting, but I don't have any first hand experience.

    • I use Godaddy, Hostmonster, and Hostnine. The best plan for the money is Hostmonster, but if you want a reseller account I like Hostnine; other than a small chmod issue they have been great.

In any case, once you decide on a new host, its always a good idea to go to webhostingtalk.com and do a search for the company you chose and see if they have any discount coupons or codes.

What exactly is the same problem?
      maybe we can help.

      - Vince

Everyday I get database errors (especially with my SMF forum with JSMF Bridge)
My websites suddenly become slow slow and drag!
      I get time outs randomly.
Lately this happens around the same time of the day (in the mornings) as well as it occurs randomly at other times.
And I get "Site Offline Errors" randomly.

Sounds likely they are over-selling their server resources.

    • I hear nothing but good things about hostgator and I intend upon using them next time.

      Cheers!
