OK I got tired of waiting and used one of my sites as a guinea pig.
The new Gantry 4.1.21 does NOT fix the issues outlined in this thread. Gantry 4.1.20 AND 4.1.21 are both incompatible with Ignite Gallery's lightbox (and we can assume everything else that had a similar problem listed in this thread).
To say I'm disappointed is a gross understatement. - Cebsource Creative & Technical Services

It appears Ignite made changes on their end to accommodate RocketTheme.
From their website:
"As rockettheme have not confirmed to me if or when they will change this, I have updated my javascript in version 3.6 of the gallery to work with the rockettheme javascript."

The Ignite developers have made changes to their code and we have just released a new version of roksprocket too
