Hey all! Long time no see, I know... been working on this new project, and of course it takes twice as long and costs twice as much, LOL!
PLEASE NOTE: This site has adult content. No nudity, but adult language. Please do not visit if this might offend you. ALSO, ALL possibly offensive content is hidden behind registration, because I am very concerned about child safety on the web (if you want my whole shpiel, click on the Family Friendly link at the bottom of any of my pages). If you would like to register to play around and test, then request that I remove your registration, please feel free to do so...
It's good to be back in the thick of developing, though, I'll say.

Custom Development: Oh gosh, lots... (and James was a godsend with a bunch of it).
First of all, you will see the template looks quite different from the original. I took some screenshots of Populus in RT, combined them into a single JPG and used them as a trace image in fireworks to create my original concept. Worked like a charm, I have to say.
I also changed the names of the modules and added in some module positions (copied user 1, 2, and 3 again below their original positions). The names I changed so as the site is worked on by people other than myself,t he names make sense, they are l1, l2 etc for the left, r1, r2 for the right and so on.
Also created a separate template to apply to just the home page with home page module positions that are the same as the modules on the other pages, but with an _h after them. That way as I grow, it will be easy to specify that certain modules show ONLY on the interior pages, but not the home page (like advertisement for affiliate programs - I don't ever want to send someone from my home page away from my site).
Did a lot of typography and CSS styling/customizing. This is not as evident in the content I have up, but in the content that is actually for sale and the sample content, it is quite visible.
Any specific areas of my site that I'd like feedback on, if any: Not all of the content is in, but I'd like to know what interested you the most, what stood out, and what confuses you (if anything)...
Also screenshots of weirdness in various browsers are very welcome.
Oh, and if you preview an RW card, the menu overlays it... I figure it needs z-index somewhere, any thoughts on this?
Additional Comments: The site is aimed at women in committed relationships, of course we hope to attract men to buy as gifts for wives and GFs, and eventually will have the stories from a male POV... I also know that singles will find the site and use it, but they are not the target market.
The top part of the home page is being redesigned... from "What is" currently on the site to something like the attached image. More friendly, relationship focused I think.
I am not yet quite sure how best to accomplish the in static content with CSS... if you have suggestions, I would LOVE to hear them. I know I could just do an image, but I am NOT wild about that idea...
domain name itself is attention getter....site is beautiful.....my only wish when I surfed the site was a bit more of a teaser....but then again isn't that the point?
Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.
Davida, Thank you. Thanks especially for saying it looks nothing like the template. That is often my goal with site designing. I love the templates that RocketTheme produces, but (if I have time and funds) I always want to make things my (or rather the company's) own as much as possible.
Well, I wanted to give the site a review last weekend, but I got sick and am just now feeling better. So, I have some catching up to do first. But I will give you this...
My first reaction - RUNNING SHOES. Just picture the cartoon where smoke is trailing from where the guy was standing in the middle of the room to right out the open door.
Peace,
William
