    • Great site, I really like the look that you have giving it.

I wonder in all the free time you have, obviously joking there, if you could share in your knowledge on how to take a screenshot like you did and convert it into a new look? I would love to learn the basics of that as I too feel that the RocketThemes are great, but want to use it as a canvas to paint my own pictures.

      Keep up the awesome work!

    • Hello all! So sorry I have been Missing In Action... my investor's partner in a major biz nearly died (a freak accident), which has been causing me all sorts of upset trying to get deals in place and paperwork signed...

William and Wolfgang, I agree with everything you are saying. At this time, all I can say is that I am still in development, and I intend to be very user-friendly... with LOTS of recognition. ;-)
Great site, I really like the look that you have giving it.

      Thank you.

Well, on my Mac, the screenshot i s Shift + Command (apple key) + 3

I went to the RocketTheme page, and took a screenshot, scrolled down a bit, took another, until I had the entire page. I opened the screenshots in Photo shop.

With the first shot, I cropped it and made the canvas size longer. I cropped the second one, and pasted it in a new layer on the first, made it 50% transparent, placed it perfectly with the overlap, then made it 100% opaque and merged the layer down.

I repeated the process with each layer, then saved the flattened file as a JPG.

I opened the new file in Fireworks, and simply used it to create each element as I needed. The original file I created is at the start of this thread. I have used that as my base for modifying the source files, and all of my artwork creation since that point, and feel that I have stayed very true to my original version so far (although there are SOME changes we are implementing... notably the new copy on the home page).

If there is any part that is unclear, or if I did not answer a question, please feel free to post again. :)

      LMAO! Indeed.

      1. Look: when I register, and get the confirmation email, then come back to the site, there is -- Nothing-- to say hello. The registration-window's not there, OK, but instead it there should be someone saying: hey, you're back! You are now logged in as Wolfgang.

      2. The little Login-Window askes me for --usernname and --password; where the confirmation email granted me acces with email/name! It should be the same.

I know I'm stupid but some sites don't make me feel like I am.
I don't have a problem if you correct me, but...
Some sites work for me and some don't.
I'd like this one to work for me!

Step 1: "Wolfgang, thank you for joining YadaYada, please check your email and click on our Confirmation link..."

Step 2: You Confirm Link and are Brought to "Welcome Page"

Step 3: "Wolfgang, Welcome to YadaYada! It's great to have you as a member of our community YadaYada..."
And then perhaps that first welcome page would go and give you the top three or four things you want them to go and do on the site. Create your traffic funnels to easily walk the new members to "DO" through the site what you want your members to do...

I've often thought of having a proper and intuitive interface that welcomes and leads a new member through to do what they want I just never seem to make it happen (bangs head on wall)...

The main step that you wish to happen is that you are always recognized by name through the entire login / registration process in a friendly way.

(Wolfgang, vieleicht Ich kann zwanzig jarhe bevor auf Deutsch mitschreiben aber Ich habe alles vergessen. Achhh mein gott! Ich musse umlernen?? Erst gehen, dann laufen, Ich habe fallen.)

Heather, hope all goes well on your site launch. You've certainly created a *stir* in the community ;D

LOL! I hear you. THIS is exactly what I am planning/working on in the development. It is a major process - LOTS of details.
