You may not need to have all these things running to make the site work. In FireFox Web Developer, I found that some extensions were duplicating services. I also discovered that some extensions, while cool, were resource intensive that they were not worth it. I was able to cut my bandwidth to about half what it was by trimming image files, eliminating redundancies, and by discarding "lightbox."
This being said--you still need to look into a server!

Yes you can always scrape around to find resources, but I don't think it should be that way.
Your site is your shop window to the world, and it should be without compromise.
In my time in this business I have seen some almost unbelievable things done by users I know because I have had to sort out the aftermath.
Try turning on debug mode and see the number of sql querires pages take to build.
Always good info to know about.
Depending on your components/modules see if any access external servers.
That can slow down loading of a page while code waits for a response from a remote host.
RSS feeds comes to mind.
