As for many across the globe, this year provided several challenges for us here at RocketTheme. We've downsized our team, defended our website from a large scale DDoS attack, and have been preparing our themes and our Gantry 5 framework for the release of Joomla 4. But even with all of the challenges, our focus on innovation remains strong and we hope to end the year better than it began.

What's Next

There is a lot to look forward to from RocketTheme in the coming weeks. Our newest theme (which will have an emphasize on SaaS) will be available in mid to late October. The theme will be a fresh new design blended with stunning particles, multiple presets, and incredible typography. Stay connected with RocketTheme via Facebook or Twitter to be notified when this eye-catching template is released.

Along with making our latest theme available, RocketTheme is working to ensure its current and growing Gantry 5 library of templates will receive updates for Joomla 4. We hope to provide package downloads of our Gantry 5.5 framework soon, which will be compatible with the beta and stable versions of Joomla 4. Theme updates noting Joomla 4 compatibility via our product updates page will then be available soon after Joomla 4 is officially released.

Lastly, we are also in the process of updating our RocketTheme website to include a new design and performance upgrade. Expect a faster, more sleek design that will create for a better user experience when visiting our website.

Moving On

As we move further into a new era of technology, we find ourselves having to move on from products that we have long held dear. For over a decade we have been dedicated to maintaining several extensions that have changed the Joomla universe. We have remained steadfast in our support, but we are now finding that their time is soon coming to an end.

As Adobe ends support for Flash at the end of this year, we too will have to end support this year for one of our most beloved extensions, RokGallery. A versatile, user-friendly gallery extension with a built-in slice editor, RokGallery was revolutionary for its time. Innumerable features coupled with template specific styles, it was an extension that shaped the success of RocketTheme.

Furthermore, we will also be sunsetting several older RocketTheme templates this year that are static/fixed templates (see Layout column here) and were styled for extensions that are now in our legacy archive. We will continue to support all of our mobile responsive Gantry 4 templates from Halcyon to Cygnet. Users can expect continued support for these templates throughout the life of Joomla 3.10, which is expected to be 2 years from the time it becomes available.

Over 15 Years with Joomla

RocketTheme launched as Joomla’s first template club, giving users of the popular CMS the ability to save time and money creating their perfect website. Over the years, Joomla has undergone major changes and we’ve been proud to be the largest and longest-running single developer of premium Joomla templates. 

As we look forward to Joomla’s next major release, we continue to focus our efforts on doing what RocketTheme does best: Creating the best Joomla templates around.
