    • Hi Guys I'm a newbie here. I just downloaded SolarSentinel and RocketLauncher with it and I'm watching the video tutorial. Its all fine until now. I'm using a MAMP and FTP classic for Mac and when I try to connect on the FTP there is always a message saying my username and password are wrong. I'm using the user name and password given by the localhost (MAMP).
Am I doing something wrong? Please Help!
      Thanks

    • There are two usernames and passwords, on is for the database and the other is for Joomla.

Are yours the same or different?
    • Thanks,

    • Hello Jem,
My username for Joomla is different from the one I'm trying on the FTP. The username and password I'm trying to use on the FTP client is the one that came on the MAMP, given by them.
I keep trying but there is always a message from the FTP saying the password and username are not correct.
I really don't know what I am doing wrong...

    • You should review MAMP documentation and search or post on their forum, if everything is configured properly, you should be able to install Joomla / Rocket Launchers / templates, etc, with no problem.

    • Andy,
Thanks for the encouragement, but I think Solar Sentinel is a bit like La Isla de la muerte for Captain Jack Sparrow---you can only find it if you've been there. Or in the case of Solar Sentinel, only if you developed it, can you change it--for a new guy anyway. My training wheels came off trying to decode the tiny tutorial videos on typography and the need for no HTML if you have Rokcandy, which can be found and understood only on La Isla de la muerte. I have been using XAMMP, and Solar Sentinel looks great, but I think I'll have to find a simpler template to start with. Maybe come back when I've discovered where all my default.ini's are. Consider how completely lucid this explanation is for a new guy (or girl):
"....As is apparent, each line is separated into distinctive sections. There are two parts, the RokCandy syntax (left of =) and the outputted HTML (right of =). You would create your own tag name and insert them between square brackets, [], followed by {text} and the closing tag with [] brackets again. This segment is followed by the = symbol and following on from that is the HTML output. Note, the {text} is required in both parts to denote what element is to be carried forward. You can use any value between the {} brackets, such as {title} or {link} as long as they are cross referenced in the HTML output as shown in the example below:..."
      What?
So, I am off to find a new vessel. Lots of them around Port Royal.

    • So I set up sections, and categories. Then I created an articles and chose my "newsletter" section and my antibiotics category. I went to Main Menu and changed the link to a section layout, and chose which section...When I preview I see the link now goes to the section and shows the title of the category with a parentheses , but it doesn't show the article automatically. I have to click the category title and then the article. How can I set it up so it auto opens all articles in the category???

SO if I set up 6 articles with each having their own read more it will show all as I click on the link. AND, am I right that doing this will allow me to use a read more for each article since they are all showing on a section layout????? I realize I can only use one read more per article. I am having success using joomla and rt over the last few months. I had to complete some client work for MONEY, and now I'm going back to learn sections and categories properly to save time....

    • Hi,

Is there anywhere I can get information on using Rocketlauncher on a localhost in MAMP? The tutorials show how to ftp it to a live site and I can't seem to convert that to my local host. I searched the forums and didn't find anything very basic about it.

      Thanks in advance,

      Kristen

    • I just purchased a membership, downloaded the Nexus theme, unzipped it with 7zip and attempted to install. I get a 500 error. I have installed 20 free templates without any errors. Frustrating to have my first paid for template not even install. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

    • Please describe step-by-step what you did. The 500 error is rather useless when debugging because it is too generic.
