Are you trying to duplicate the demo and work from there or use the demo as a reference, one install or two?
(Keep in mind you can't duplicate the demo without the Rocket Launcher, i.e. using Quick Install and the template)
Also note, you don't have to go so far as creating a sub domain, you can just create a folder in your root.
So let us know what the goal is and we can give you some directions. - Thanks,

oh please ...
you probably have downloaded Joomla from Joomla.org installed and loaded the sample data.
So you have only the standard Joomla demo content.
After that you installed the template + gantry.
The problem is that that the installer from Joomla.org does not include
a.) RT-extensions
b.) RT demo-content as showcased in our demo
it also has totally different module positions.
So that just cant look good.
So the solution is NOT to use the Joomla-installation.
Use the so called "Rocketlauncher-package".
It includes
a.) Joomla-cms
b.) RT-extensions
c.) demo content as it is showcased on our demo site.
If you want to replicate the RT demo delete everyting and use the Rocketlauncher.
Please be aware that you can't use the Rockerlauncher on an existing Joomla installation.
