Joomla and Ecommerce R.I.P VirtueMart

    • well I think "better" is too subjective...Imho it's better than almost everything. I've been using it for years and I wouldn't use any other cart system. The fact that he's integrated it so tightly with Joomla just rounds out my web toolbox completely. I know it will do things that are lacking in Magento and Virtuemart such as L/W/H Dimensions in shipping..etc..etc. Is it free? no..but it's more than worth the cost for a license. I mean I paid 149.00 for Jomsocial just for a Social Networking Component. This is a full blown shopping cart system that is very advanced and feature rich, not to mention incredibly stable.

    • The first thought in my sceptic brain when somebody promises both the sun and the moon is usually:

Let's wait and see ... and then scrap it. :)

    • Well I suppose that's one way to do it...but keeping in mind that I've made no promises of any sort. It's my opinion that the cart system I'm referring to is one of the best on the market and the fact that it now works natively with Joomla...well put simply, it solves almost every stumbling block to total web design and e-commerce integration I've had over the years.

    • This wouldn't be the Joomla!/Zencart integration somebody made available a few days ago?

    • I'm not exactly sure what a previous posting regarding my thoughts on the increasing number of module positions and exponential growth in complexity of a few of the Rocketthemes has to do with this thread....but I'm all ears :)

    • logistically speaking, doesn't there have to be a first time for everything? The Joomla community hasn't seen it, because it hasn't been released yet. when I'm told I can give details, I will.. :) in fact I believe he's posting a demo site this weekend.

and zoo is a catalog CCK not a cart, btw..albeit a nice one.

and spam "promotion" as you call it, would make sense if I was gettin paid somehow. lol
