      Hi all,

@LiEs, you can manage your frontpage with jSeblod CCK exactly like in Joomla (frontpage article and frontpage menu link)

Just to alert you that the STABLE version of jSeblod CCK is out with a lot of new features and improvements like:
Advanced & Multi Criteria Search Forms
Advanced & Multi Criteria List View
New Concept with Custom Content Dimension

      Best Regards.
Advanced & multi criteria List and/or Search Views sounds great. That is one of feature I like about FLEXIcontent. I'll take another look at jSeblod.

    • I just downloaded the user guide from the site and skipped to the bit about creating field types.

Not sure if this is exactly what I need, I want to create a film database and have some of the fields to be admin only and some public viewing.

Another thing I want to use cck for is to create a member database for a swimming club, but only the person who submits data, and administrator can view that specific record.

Hopefully one of the authors of a cck here can advise if this is possible please?

    • @all Thanks a lot for your comments.

      @Lies
I don't think that flexicontent manage multicriteria search and list. Can you generate search forms?
      Maybe i'm wrong.

      @Brian

jSeblod CCK manage natively Admin and Site fields. Look on content type edition, you have 2 tabs on the right to define field in admin form and field in site form. You can too have specific template for admin form and for site form.

For swimming club, yes, jSeblod CCK manage natively which field do you display in content. Edit a content type and you will see content tab on the right.

So you can for the same content type define the fields which are displayed in:
      admin form
      site form
      content
      (and in your email...)

      Best Regards.

Sorry I dont understand, so I could specify that a user can only see his/her record? and no other user apart from an administrator could see it?

    • Hi Brian,

Sorry, i'm sometime a little tired.

So yes, a user can manage his/her record. jSeblod CCK has a front-end manager. And you can do a lot more arround this subject like allow a number of submission per content type...

      Best Regards.

    • OK so after messing around I think I have settled on JSeblod as my cck of choice.

      This is based on:
It uses com_content unlike K2 so it will work with other modules/plugins natively
Creating Content Fields is Relatively Easy and Straight Forward
Creating Content Types is Relatively Easy and Straight Forward
You have more control over your custom templates than K2, meaning you can put your extra fields in divs where you want how you want as opposed to keeping them all together in K2.
When I hand the site over to a client, I think it will be easier for them to enter their custom pages

That said, in order to create a custom template for your content, you need to be able to style using CSS and PHP for your divs. (The fields are generated for you automatically with the template generator but then you have to put them where you want).

As a suggestion/feature request, I hope they move to something more along the lines of a drag and drop for fields like flexicontent does.

Just my 2 cents, and like I've said before it's a bit of a learning curve but hopefully will be well worth it.

      Cheers,

      Rich

    • Does JSeblod have an ACL or does it use the Joomla core ACL of Public, Registered, Special?
