    • Flexicontent looks promising... I'll have to install it and try it out... Right now I am using k2 for the first time on a site and I really like it. I have also used form2content, which is weird because you create items and then you have to publish them (which makes them output html into standard articles). If you edit the article directly and then go edit in form2content's system it will overwrite the joomla article changes.

    • sorry for not posting back been busy.
I have used most of the ccks out there even JSebloc
      basicly all cck's are lacking.
not a complaint just an observation
the reason is that they are all still new.
Maybe just a year or ywo old

JSeblod Rocks except it is difficult to learn.
I think Flexicontent needs time to mature.
FLEXicontent is conceptualized with J1.6 in mind
also there is FLEXIacces which absolutely rocks.
the combination is seamless. I can't wait for all this to come out of beta?
But its better that they eait and have an awsome product

I'm not knocking anybodies software. I still use K2
      cheers
      this is a great discussion
PS thanks for the spreadsheet looks great Nice comparison

I'm testing both K2 and flexi. I really hate that K2 doesn't use core com_content. For example, I use Myblog right now for blogging. So moving to a CCK is a piece a cake cuz it uses com_content. Lets say I get a site built with K2, then something comes along and I decide to change for what ever reason, I have to get my data out of K2. That means, dumping data and trying to import into other tables etc etc. (a big head ache). Along with that K2 doesn't seem to be compatible with lots of content plug-ins like scrollers, tabs, content rotators. The one plus i give K2 is its more polished on the front end and looks much better. Flexi needs lots of template work to make it look good.

I'm just really surprised K2 decided to use its own set of tables. Maybe I'm just old school with database design, but more tables just seems wrong to me. Plus data portability is a major issue as well.
These are my exact sentiments and I've expressed them to Fotis.

Where is FlexiAccess - I've talked to Emmanuel about it but haven't seen it out for download yet, which is disappointing because of what it adds to FlexiContent

    • I thing I don't like about FLEXIcontent is a no frontpage easiness & no menu category parameters. In order to have featured items, you have to create a category for it called "featured" and have that as the front page. This is more of a work around for now.
FLEXIcontent does not have menu parameters. I only want one coumn in the frontpage, to show a few articles, and two columns of the same categories in a second menu link. This can't be done since only 1 layout is allowed per category. This could be overwritten with menu parameters like K2, but it was taken out of FLEXIcontent.

    • Hi all,

@LiEs, you can manage your frontpage with jSeblod CCK exactly like in Joomla (frontpage article and frontpage menu link)

Just to alert you that the STABLE version of jSeblod CCK is out with a lot of new features and improvements like:
Advanced & Multi Criteria Search Forms
Advanced & Multi Criteria List View
New Concept with Custom Content Dimension

      Best Regards.
