I tried learning it, but flexi was easier to use because the back-end is similar to k2's. I do like your new website design. The other one killed the internet, I felt like they were trying to annoy us. I might just give it another try just for looking better. :cheesy:

Flexicontent has everything and uses core items first...but no ACL.

K2 has all items and works great...but doesn't use core stuff first so you get tied in and tied in to all the other JoomlaWorks extensions.

Jseblod has both...........ACL as well as core com_content. Does this mean the winning cck is Jseblod? I am looking for the comparison in following four:

      1. Mighty Extension Resource (Not using com_content)
      2. Jseblod CCK (using com_content)
      3. FlexiContent (using com_content)
      4. K2 (replacing com_content)

What I foresee is a tie between Jseblod and FlexiContent as my requirements don't allow me to use anything other than com_content.
      Any input on it plz?

    • I was looking through the jSebold site and I didn't see that they have any other level control than core Joomla. It looks like they let you put users in to categories, but it doesn't mention access level control beyond Joomla's...

      am I missing something?

Any ideas on which cck would be best for a links directory(apart from sobi)?

For a link directory, I think this one is pretty polished and slick:

      extensions.joomla.org/extensions/ads-a-a...text-a-link-ads/9460

Just got this installed, a very nice component, and with csv importing built in too :)

      It uses Joomla's default ACL.

This is what kills me right now. It's K2 vs others for ACL, but once Joomla 1.6 comes out (within 3 months I hope) the other cck's extensions will use Joomla's 1.6 ACL. It's hard to pick which to use. If there was an easy way to convert k2 articles to any other cck I would go for k2 for now.

Will Joomla 1.6 with, lets say jSebold, be better than k2? Then again I don't know how K2's ACL will be like once 1.6 comes out. Just throwing thoughts out.

    • The only thing that keeps me from using FlexiContent over K2 is the ACL that is built into K2.

If FlexiContent builds in a ACL for their component, I'll jump over to theirs. Also the lack of tutorials and documentation in English for FlexiContent is a big deal for me.

We do a lot of Government websites which requires full ACL so that departments can control ONLY their sections of the website. I have not found a 3rd party ACL extension that is easy to use and does everything needed for an ACL.

Which one is better: K2 or FlexiContent and why?
