    • @Stian, thanks a lot, i posted on mailing list the topic. I hope to share with you about Joomla.
@Brian Tyndall, You will see in January a stable release for jSeblod CCK 1.5 and a RC for jSeblod CCK 1.6 which include some nice innovations about search. We test all our alpha and beta version with Seblod customers when we develop for their need, so normally we don't publish release before RC state.
@LiEs thanks for your mind, we try to have JCE editor in default view for the next release

      Best Regards.

    • Hi yeah I'm working on FLEXIcontent. Looking through the code I noticed that at least some parts are borrowed from K2. FLEXIcontent is definitly more powerful. They need to finish up the front-side editing feature but in the back end there is a rocket engine. You can check out my website http://www.orchid1software.com/Website/home/item/48-k2-vs-flexicontent-comparison and take a look at some tutorials and a comparison charts between K2 vs FLEXIcontent. Or you could just browse my site http://orchid1software.com I have a lot of stuff on it right now. The front end should be finished on FLEXIcontent by early February. I've been talking with Emmanuel, the creator of FLEXIcontent about it, also you will be able to find lots of help for FLEXIcontent on their website.

Right now FLEXIcontent is geared toward the enterprise while If you are thinking about running a bloig I would definitly suggest at this time to got with K2 since it is more stable and is definitly designed witht he blogger in mind.

But like I said for the full featured website One with a blog and several other types content FLEXIcontent is going to be the best choice. Plus with FLEXIcontent if you decide to switch to another system the contetn you created will not disapear as is the case with K@ Hope this helps
      Cheers

    • @Lapoux JSebold looks very promising and probably what I need, but the user interface on the back end is not very user friendly or intuitive.

Possibly the cause is a lack of documentation. (I understand it's under construction)

I would suggest some kind of quick start guide (shorter than the current docs)

Also a more complete demo site. For example, I registered on the site but when I go to "my page" there is no add new or anything so I can't play with that function.

Same thing goes for member lists.

Anyway, not trying to say anything bad, just giving an opinion...I'd really like to wind up using your cck for a major project but time is of the essence and seems like the learning curve may be a bit steep without more comprehensive docs.

    • I'm testing both K2 and flexi. I really hate that K2 doesn't use core com_content. For example, I use Myblog right now for blogging. So moving to a CCK is a piece a cake cuz it uses com_content. Lets say I get a site built with K2, then something comes along and I decide to change for what ever reason, I have to get my data out of K2. That means, dumping data and trying to import into other tables etc etc. (a big head ache). Along with that K2 doesn't seem to be compatible with lots of content plug-ins like scrollers, tabs, content rotators. The one plus i give K2 is its more polished on the front end and looks much better. Flexi needs lots of template work to make it look good.

I'm just really surprised K2 decided to use its own set of tables. Maybe I'm just old school with database design, but more tables just seems wrong to me. Plus data portability is a major issue as well.

FLEXIcontent is the same with content plug-ins. It does have a universal plugin solution, but still not all plugins work (ex. Disqus plugin, tweetmeme). Jseblod works best with plugins, then FLEXIcontent, and last k2.

I also thought the same thing, but once you add some CSS edits and use the same file for other sites it gets easier, after all that is what k2 is. I think FLEXIcontent has a better polished back-end. FlEXIcontent also has an easier drag-and-drop solution which K2 doesn't. With K2 you have to edit the template file directly which many can do, but FLEXIcontent made it a step easier.

    • From their site. You can download jSeblod CCK RC5 (JED). This is the last release before the Stable Release.

I have it and no major problems other than the lack of documentation. But it does seem really promising.

But like I said before you can't really try before downloading as there is no demo site to see the possibilities and on their site when you go to "My Page" you can't do anything...
