Months have gone past now - this is getting silly - do they want us to renew our membership or not?

I didn't renew my wordpress membership. No reason to, there are many other template sites with solid frameworks. I've already bought several wordpress templates from themeforest.

I've also looked around at YooThemes as well as ThemeForest but was sold on RT initially because of the Joomla templates which work pretty flawlessly and are easy to edit, and then despite a few misgivings - not least because the development of themes or templates for other platforms is miles behind the Joomla dev - I was tempted into investing in Magento and Wordpress developer membership because I use Magento for ECommerce and was even going to add the PHPBB membership into the mix.

Maybe the RT dev team are spreading themselves too thin and cross platform development is too ambitious.

Does anyone know if this is an issue with the basic theme that comes with Gantry for Wordpress? At least that would tell us whether it lies within Gantry or the RT Themes themselves.
Yes, it's an issue with the basic theme that comes with Gantry. I customized the basic theme for a client months ago and it's a problem for them to this day.

I was initially jazzed about the Gantry framework for WordPress, because it's such a modular framework and easy to customize. Unfortunately I can't use it anymore with the widget bugs.

    • Thanks Sheridan.

I'll check the Gantry forum but it's not looking hopeful if this forum is being ignored. Will try the developer forum here as well, referring back to this post, but if it doesn't get sorted I guess there will be more than one developer voting with their feet and baling out because of this.

Six templates to choose from that match Joomla templates (Quasar is Magento only) and none of those Joomla templates is recent enough to be using Gantry...

Just as a quick correction, Quasar is a free GPL Joomla theme that uses Gantry - demo.rockettheme.com/free/quasar/

The Joomla Mercado theme also uses Gantry - demo.rockettheme.com/mar11/ - and is available as a Magento template.

All good and well, but when will there be a fix for this Widget override issue? Also what is the best approach for a 'work-around' for now? I see tips on how to work around it but none of them seem to be working all the time?

    • I'm afraid I only deal with Magento, so I can't be of any help with this issue, but I'll remind Jakub to give an update.

    • I spoke with Jakub and he said that they are actively working on a solution to this issue, as a priority.

    • Sam many thanks for your help with Magento and thanks for championing our case here on the Wordpress/Gantry forum even though you specialise in Magento.

Good to know this has now become a priority seeing as the first request for help was well over 4 months ago and I for one was beginning to give up hope of a solution.

    • Still no update on this thread - has anyone seen any news of a solution posted elsewhere in the forum of is it still 'work in progress'?
