How to properly upload RocketLauncher Templates to your ROOT

    • You can't use the auto-installer and the RocketLauncher. You'll have to do it manually.

    • I'm trying so hard...but some major things are escaping. :'(

      I think I uploaded the Chromatophore template to my FTP. Somewhere (I think RocketTutorials) is said to do this:
      The speed of transfer varies with hosting server speed and your internet connection speed. It is best to upload the extracted folder to the public_html directory so the path to your Rocket Launcher pack is public_html/Joomla_RT_Rocket-Launcher-package-name/.

      So I put it in the public_html directory. I read all of you saying you put it in your root directory. I'm not understanding the terminology here. HELP!

      When I then type in: www.maverickauctionservices.com/Joomla_R...uncher_Chromatophore
      I get the following error -

      Not Found
      The requested URL /Joomla_RT_Rocket_Launcher_Chromatophore was not found on this server.
      Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
      Apache/2.0.63 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.0.63 OpenSSL/0.9.7a mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 mod_bwlimited/1.4 Server at www.maverickauctionservices.com Port 80

      How many, many things have I done wrong?

      THANK YOU!

    • You can check via FTP where you put it and what you named it.

    • I see on my Filezilla FTP screen that it's there under home, iparentw (my name), and then public_html. I then go and enter the URL of
      http:///www.maverickauctionservices.com/Joomla_RT_Chromatophore_j15 (or 1.5)
      I get the 404 Not Found error:
      Not Found
      The requested URL /Joomla_RT_Chromatophore_j115 was not found on this server.

      Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

      Apache/2.0.63 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.0.63 OpenSSL/0.9.7a mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 mod_bwlimited/1.4 Server at www.maverickauctionservices.com

      I have noticed on my FTP server, the Port number stays blank. I try to tell it 22 which is what my Rochen Hosting account says to put it at, but I hit okay or whatnot and it goes away. Next time I go back in, it's blank again.

      What the heck am I missing? I don't want to give up.

      THANKS!

    • It's all up and working but when someone goes to www.[my-site].com it doesn't work... they have to go to http://www.[my-site}.com/Joomla_RT_Catalyst_j15/installation/index.php

      Obviously that's not acceptable. What do I need to do to move everything to www.[my-site].com?

      Learning, learning, learning....

      Thanks!

    • Also, on the Joomla 1.0.1x prei-nstallation check it says:

      " Session save path Unwriteable"

      What do I need to do?

      I found another forum that says it's not a problem...

      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
      Functions of Joomla! are not disabled with unwriteabled Session path.
      It is marked RED for the security reasons. The directory where are temporary files and sessions saved is "unwriteable" for common users - that is GOOD. It means the script or user can read or write to this directory but can not get a list of the files inside. And that is CORRECT.
      Joomla! checks this directory by the function "php_value session.save_path ../tmp" and because it can not get a list of contents send back "false" - in fact unwriteable.
      So again - settings are ok, it is for your security. Now when the safe mode is OFF for all users of 110mb.com you can enjoy Joomla! without any problems.
      ~~~~~~~~~~~~

      But I have no idea. Just looking for ways to make things work correctly at my domain (see previous post).

    • With your FTP client application, move your files from the subdirectory to the root, then modify these settings in Joomla! configuration.php file:

      $mosConfig_absolute_path
      $mosConfig_cachepath
      $mosConfig_live_site
