Callisto, RocketTheme's first premium template built on Gantry 5, has received an update giving it 4 new light presets, preset layouts, and more.

RocketTheme is proud to announce the release of Callisto, its first Joomla template made with Gantry 5, the all-new version of Gantry built from the ground-up for the modern Web.

The RocketTheme team has been working hard on its next Joomla template. It will be the first premium template released by RocketTheme for the all-new Gantry 5 framework.

The Joomla! Project is days away from being released Joomla 3.3, and this update contains a number of changes such as adding a built-in JQuery library and integrated support for Microdata. Microdata being one of the more interesting changes to anyone that wants to improve a site’s SEO (search engine optimization).

We've received a lot of feedback from our community recently asking how various templates can be best modified to meet the needs of a variety of sites. From corporate enterprises to personal portfolios, our community is as diverse as it gets.

That's why we've designed all of our Gantry-powered templates and themes to be easily modified without any programming or website design experience required. In fact, there is very little you can't do with one of our templates after just a few minutes of working with the settings made available in the back end of Joomla or WordPress.

Whenever the topic of Joomla template frameworks comes up, the big names get bandied around, along with a few less well-known solutions. Inevitably, Gantry is mentioned, and usually in disparaging tones along with adjectives such as "heavy", "bloated", and "slow.” I think this generally stems from a lack of education and understanding about what Gantry brings to the table, how it performs tasks, and how to get the best out of it.

Joomla 3.0 was released on September 27th and it marks the first of the STS (standard term support) releases that will culminate with Joomla 3.5 LTS (long term support) release in September of 2013. Joomla 3.0, and the next STS version Joomla 3.1, are intended for early adopters and as such they are not recommended for the vast majority of people for developing their production sites.

For those that follow us on Twitter, or Facebook, may have seen references to a new extension we have been working on for some time. RokSprocket is a revolutionary new Joomla 2.5 only extension that has been designed to replace a variety of our existing ‘content’ modules. These include RokStories, RokTabs, RokNewsPager, RokNewsflash, RokMicronews, and basically any module in the RT arsenal that manipulates and displays articles.

What makes this such a powerful extension is that it has been built to be highly plug-able with the ability to support almost any data source. At launch we plan to include Joomla, K2, ZOO and Seblod CCKs, with more platforms being added in future releases. Alongside the plug-able platform capability, the layouts such as Tabs, Features, Headlines, and Lists, and specific themes for these layouts can easily be added via site templates.
