    • Andy you mentioned pushing the envelope, will you push it far enough to include a shopping theme in your plans?

    • Maybe a tutorial on converting 1.5 to 1.0 will ease the transition.
I can't wait to see the guys focus on only 1.5 features...

      Change 2009!

      I hope you mean "converting 1.0 to 1.5" :D

    • I meant converting a 1.5 based template to 1.0 so 1.0 die hards could still use the new styles minus the 1.5 specific features.
On the Joomla 1.0 to 1.5 conversion...I find it really sad the Joomla core devs have not come up with a better migration plan to make it a no brainier to switch up.

    • All the sites I've developed lately have been 1.5.

Any new sites I develop will only be 1.5.

I'm ready for 1.5 only development of templates right now.

I haven't migrated any existing 1.0 sites to 1.5 yet. As long as they still do what they need to & the owners don't ask for any features that are not supported by 1.0 I am going to leave them 1.0. Unless I get really, really bored and have nothing better to do. I doubt that will happen anytime soon. I have two sites I need to build for myself that I don't have time to do. One of them is a static site I have (nothing to do with web design) that I want to convert to a Joomla 1.5 site. Another project is a web design site for myself. I must be the only web designer on the planet that doesn't have a website! I am too busy building sites for other people. All my business is referrals, but I am going to move myself up my priority list one of these days, if only I paid myself more! ;D

    • joomla 1.0 is old school

    • I must admit, this is a good idea. I stopped putting clients on the v1.0 system very shortly after 1.5 was launched, even though there is still a shortage of 1.5 native add-on modules. Certainly with RT there has been no need for add-ons at the moment as most scenarios are pretty much covered in my case.

This should allow more brain power for more bright ideas to come from the developers of new and innovative themes.

These templates never fail to impress, even when some are revamped or update versions from the 1.0 system. It gives them a new lease of life in what is a very versatile version of Joomla!
