    • Hi, you mentioned that we have to learn something new about the installation.
What do we have to learn, as I am having trouble uploading both mixxmag and hivemind.

I have 3 other Joomla sites and never have an issue.
I did download the 1.5 rocketlauncher template file for each.
I uploaded it to the server, I do make it to the installation page and finish the installation.
When I delete the INSTALLATION folder, I get an error on the site saying that the installation/index.php file is missing.

I have looked at the server, and that file is there.

      Please help!

Guys, many of you say that they don't want to switch to j!1.5 only cause they have to learn something new about installation, new administrative panel and so on. I think it's not the proper place to discuss how to use j!1.5. It's great that newer version has more possibilities and faster than previos one. We all need to learn it to go on with joomla to get the best of it.

However there are other difficulties except somebody doesn't want to study 1.5. I'm telling about great components and mambots for j!1.0, which still doesn't support 1.5 version and they have no quality substitutes! Once you tried them, you can't refuse using it.
Have you tried JComments for comments or Datso Gallery or even True Gallery? They surely will be compatible with 1.5 later, people work on it, till the end of the spring I'm sure they will finish.

All of you use great and stylish rockettheme templates, but you also use CMS joomla's addons it is famous for. Check it's compability with 1.5 on the official site of each component you have.

My membership finishes in february. I will have to quit cause I can't use 1.5 templates.
    • Installed Mixxmag using Rocket Launcher, version 1.5.

    • It sounds to me that your configuration.php hasn't been created. You best bet is to ask at forum.joomla.org in their installation forum as that is an issue with 1.5 that will be address there.

    • Before you kick of the setup process manually create a configuration.php in the Joomla root dir and make it world writable. Then when you do the system checks the Joomla installer will find it and be able to write to it.

After setup is done be sure to remove the elevated permissions.

You might want to check with your hosting provider to make sure they have your site setup correctly for permissions to run a Joomla site.
